I'm pretty sure Vitali went for the same surgery Hatton's just had after his fight against Lewis. It's not plastic surgery in the way you think, i.e. cosmetic, it's just a way of making a more permanent seal for torn skin. It's pretty intricate surgery on gashes that deep.
I believe one of Hatton's surgeries also involved removing layers of Vaseline that had been rubbed in, is that true?

I don't know what they do mate, I'm no surgeon. But what you're thinking of is a skin graft and they certainly don't do that to heal a cut of the eyebrow.
My Brother has had a graft, and it's pretty harsh.

Spinks made Mayorga look stupid for most of the fight.
If Mayorga was that much of a "hate" figure, then how come King has stuck by him and got him a world title.
Anyway, even if you thought he lost to Mayorga - he was still VERY competitive in two long fights with Judah people could argue if the first fight was 30 seconds longer it would be 2-0 to Judah. It could also be argued though if the first fight was 30 seconds shorter there wouldn't have been a rematch, cause the fight was then beyond argument.
I think Mayorga's fallen into the "High profile journeyman" catorgory.
Everyone wants to fight him because he's a big name, but he's now put into fights that he can't win (Hence the reason he was up at middleweight to fight Trinidad). Don King is making money out of Mayorga now, but that won't last forever. I'd be interested to see how Oscar De La Hoya deals with Mayorga next year though @154lbs.
