Benn sparred Duran in July 1988 and said he held back as much as he could out of respect because he didn't want to KO a legend in the gym. Duran couldn't believe Nigel only turned pro the year before, he was amazed and said Benn was the future!

Benn could never knock out Duran.

when duran was in london my brother was asked to do some sparring with him and him and a couple of other british fighters went along and benn was the fighter that sparred with him , my brother had the hump a bit after :)

I wonder how Valero would be getting on these days if he hadnt killed himself?

He'd be rotting in a jail cell where he belonged. If he had not killed his wife he would have had a good career, he was a real tough motherfu**er, a pressure fighter who broke his opponents down, exciting fighter to watch.

His sparring videos are great, he always got stuck right in, almost like watching a real fight.
