Cooney had a bit more sucess at the top level, but he wouldn't be able to hurt Mitch at all.Mitch had decent boxing ability, very fast hands, and, of course, the durability. But not the experience to beat Gerry. Cooney UD 10 Green. According to Il Duce, Mitch beat Gerry bad in a smoker many years ago.

Cooney wins this one by decision, no chance of a KO.

Why not? Because he manged to finagle his way through 10 rounds against a 19 year old Tyson with umpteen fights, and a huge size difference? Green would have no size advantage over Cooney. In fact he'd be the smaller man and facing a fully matured and seasoned contender assuming they fought prime for prime.. Green going the distance with Tyson has earned him some sort of golden crown as a legit contender over the years and I don't know why. Incidentally I was half joking when I posted that Green would get " KTFO", but looking at it more closely its not out of the question, especially if styles and the timing of various fights have anything to do with it.

I'll admit, he probably wasn't a legit contender, but you don't know the legend of Blood, that's why I said it wasn't happening in a Million Years.Plus, these guys have sparred, so they have a feel for another.

Come to think of it, it's a good thing that Mitch didn't fight Gerry, might have made him cry. :OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes: !
