groves 50-1 to win in the 1st round

Post by stevedoc »

i was just checking the odds on the froch vs groves rematch and the 2 best bets i see were groves 1st rd win 50-1 and froch 12th rd win 20-1 with paddy power .
i'm not expecting either to happen but both bets are good value with froch going down so heavy in the 1st and with froch known for coming from behind so i'll stick a lady godiva on both bets .

Same, a bet like that is always worth a small punt.

I had a tenner on that too, but I remember I got 66-1. Stroke of luck.

You got bad prices, I got 80/1 and got £20 each on the first three rounds. One guy got his money on at 125/1 I seem to remember. 8)

Wonder what the price was last time? I think Froch will obviously be a bit more cautious, and let's remember Groves hurt him bad and unexpectedly first time round but couldn't finish him. I see a cautious affair, but 50-1 are good long odds. Off the top of my head I would suggest the most common results in championship boxing are Ko1 and Wpts. Not sure I that's correct

you want to go to sky bet mate its 40-1 for the 1st round and 50-1 for the 12th. Also froch to win in the later rounds are all around 14/1. Rounds from 2 up to about 7 for a groves stoppage are all about 33/1.

Fury was as low as 7's to win in the 1st last weekend which I thought was a terrible price even considering the opponent.

The night the rematch was announced I had a vivid dream that Groves would win by ko in the 1st round (presumably my brain had been convinced by Sky Sports News repeatedly showing the knockdown in the first fight).

I've had dreams about upcoming fights before, with varying degrees of accuaracy, but I reckon I'll stick a tenner on this at 50-1, at least if I win I can temporarily claim to be psychic.

On the back of your dream I'm going to put 20 on a first round win for Groves.

I have had loads of dreams about boxing results; and none of them have ever come true! Has anyone had a dream result?
