Terrific finish from McDonnell, landed one short left that caught Wood and took him out clinically.

Brilliant.

Definitely. An early stoppage is always frustrating and I for one hated the Groves stoppage, but a stoppage as late as that should be arrested for risking the dudes health there.

Decent fight. Wood was boxing well and McDonnell just poured it on when he caught Wood. Not sure why the ref pushed them apart. Maybe wanting to have a look before stopping it.

And why did he let all of those head shots carry on for so long? It wasn't stopped just a couple punches too late it was a good 10-15 punches too late!
no such thing as a standing 8

When the first few heads shots went in, I thought fair play to the ref for letting the fight continue. But that quickly changed to me being genuinely worried, shouting "somebody do SOMETHING! take a knee, throw in a towel or just do your job and stop the fight!" Why the fudge a towel didn't come in is beyond me.

For me, it wasnt just the fact that he didnt stop the fight. It's the fact that he actually stopped the action when Wood was on the verge of being stopped and actually ended up giving Wood a breather! That isnt right.
