Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
Looks like they've had enough of Martin dodging fights that are being offered to him http://www.BS.com/hatton-promo ... ray--74925

There will be an almighty scrap for his signature between the 3 promoters who have TV deals now.
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
I think Eddie Hearn might be ruling himself out. On Twitter someone Tweeted him, "Barker retires, Murray resigns from Hatton should i put 2&2 together?" Eddie replied, "Only if you want to make 5!"

Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
We can look forward to Murray fighting for shitty meaningless trinket belts for the foreseeable future im sure.

I think that's what they'd like you to think and I'm surprised you've been taken in.columbo wrote:Looks like they've had enough of Martin dodging fights that are being offered to him http://www.BS.com/hatton-promo ... ray--74925

Here's hoping GGG puts an end to Murray.

Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
The truth is that Murray just gets injured every time a big fight comes around...obviously!
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
I don't know the truth but I'm guessing Martin lost confidence in Richard Poxon quite a while back and has been waiting out the rest of his contract. If that's the case, he's right to move elsewhere, if you don't trust your promoter's Director of Boxing, you should go elsewhere, in my opinion.

Boxing in people's back yards aren't hard to make fights!!! Murray is proven & credible & ain't going to be anyone's yardstick. Hatton promotions stink!!
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
Murrays is a nobody on the world scene. He has to travel to fight for a world title, could anyone actually see a sturm, GGG, Martinez or Quillen coming to Manchester to fight him?? Why would they?
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
That happens with most of matchroom's fighters when they fight for world titles aswell.hurlock wrote:You can't handle the truth!!!columbo wrote:What is the truth then?Aden wrote: I think that's what they'd like you to think and I'm surprised you've been taken in.

Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
Wasn't Murray scheduled to box in Sydney then Monaco in non title fights
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
Garth Wood pulled out of the fight in Australia, then Murray himself pulled out of the fight in Monaco after the WBA didn't upgrade Golovkin to super champion, meaning his fight with Fletcher would only be for the interim title. He was going to Australia to fight Wood for the interim title because the money on offer was too good to turn down, think it was at least 6 figures he was offered to go down there.hurlock wrote:Wasn't Murray scheduled to box in Sydney then Monaco in non title fights
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
On top of that, Murray cant fight in the states aswell because of his criminal record.expe wrote:Garth Wood pulled out of the fight in Australia, then Murray himself pulled out of the fight in Monaco after the WBA didn't upgrade Golovkin to super champion, meaning his fight with Fletcher would only be for the interim title. I have to agree; a draw with Sturm and a boxing lesson from Martinez. . . ok great fighters but who has he beat on a decent level?
Drastically overrated
Re: Hatton promotions releases Martin Murray
The fact he's had two world title fights, won an interim title, had two offers to defend it and two other world title fights lined up, all in the last 2 and a bit years, after previously never fighting higher than British title level, is incredible, Hatton Promotions should be taking a lot of credit for the opportunities he's had.columbo wrote:On top of that, Murray cant fight in the states aswell because of his criminal record.expe wrote:Garth Wood pulled out of the fight in Australia, then Murray himself pulled out of the fight in Monaco after the WBA didn't upgrade Golovkin to super champion, meaning his fight with Fletcher would only be for the interim title. I thought he lost to Sturm, but he certainly didn't get a boxing lesson from Martinez. He had a strong case for winning that fight, though I thought Martinez just edged it. It's not so much that he's won at a high level, but that he's shown he belongs on that level.gazza8 wrote:rio wrote:Murrays is a nobody on the world scene. Boxing lesson from Martinez? When did that happen? Must have missed it.gazza8 wrote:rio wrote:Murrays is a nobody on the world scene. He has to travel to fight for a world title, could anyone actually see a sturm, GGG, Martinez or Quillen coming to Manchester to fight him?? Why would they?
