Do the board issue top ten ranking.How do they decide who should fight for title

At first I would have guessed no, otherwise I'd be sure we'd've seen copies of rankings published and stuff.
But there was a quote from Tommy Gilmour in one of the papers today talking about Scottish WW Barry Morrison, and that if he beats his next opponent (Dean Hickman, on the Kevin Anderson card) then that will put him into "the top 10."
I presume he's talking the top 10 in Britain. Although now I've types that out I suppose he could just mean unofficial top 10.

I thought they issued a list of their champions and a list of who is eligible to challenge for each title. Promoters then attempt to pair up the champion and an eligible contender and then apply to the BBBoC for recognition of the bout as being for the title. The BBBoC then issues a statement like:
SUPER-MIDDLEWEIGHT CARL FROCH (Holder) v BRIAN MAGEE
Purse Offers will be opened at the Board’s offices at 12 midday, Wednesday 14th December 2005 unless voluntary agreement between any promoter and the parties is possible beforehand in accordance with the attached Terms and Conditions. Contest to take place by the end of March 2006.

They make it up as they go along! :-)
No official ratings but they have a ratings committee who will decide who is eligible to fight the titles. Unlike the Commonwealth board they don't issue a list of challengers for each weight but they do suggest fights which then go to purse bids.
