Congratulations Curtis on an incredible achievement. I remember watching your first couple of contests and thinking 'Southern Area title... at best.' How about conquering another sport? One of those obscure winter Olympic events maybe. Luge?

Well done Curtis, full respect to you. I think your body work was superb. That little left hook under Hamiltons elbow was taking it out of him, stopped him working for the whole 3 minutes, he could only do it in spurts late on.

Whatever you decide to do in the future , good luck.

Oh and 50/1 wasn't it? :TU:

Why would he not block the left side of his face, as Curtis was effective with the looping right hand over the top and had caused some damage to it already. The uppercut was a very effective weapon for him, he caught Curtis with it a few times, it was good counterpunching from the lad.
ok, coward perhaps not the best term to use for any fighter brave enough to enter the ropes, but hamilton fought like a scared man, he was more interested in curtis not catching him than he was about letting his own hands go. Hence being on the back foot, hence the arm punches, hence the lack of power. Hamilton did not deliver, he made out he was some sort of larry holmes with his press conference jab comments. Thanks for your tips as to why his hand was glued to his ear, I did not realise that . . . . . .

im taking the piss obviously but what I mean is that hamilton was so worried about woodhouses 'bingo right' that he negated his own jab, it became an occasional poor paw. Curtis is relatively one dimensional (sorry curtis) and does what he says on the tin, hamilton, as the supposed skillful stylist should have comprehensively outboxed woodhouse, but curtis had obviously rattled him in the build up.

I fecking loved the result!
I paid zero attention to the pre-fight stuff, bores me rigid.

I think he was gassed, he looks a big lad for 140, despite the pipe-cleaner legs.

I think there's probably only a couple of maladjusted people on here who weren't pleased Curtis got the nod.

Well done sir and massive thanks as you've inspired me in my own career.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

Are you not tempted to defend the title at least once?

Are you off to your local bookmakers tomorrow with a bin bag?

Curtis my lad, we'll be telling our grandchildren about you. You're an example of ambition and boldness against the odds, and by appearances in here, a bloody good bloke. I look forward to seeing what you do next. Thanks for the ride!

Well done Curtis - I was lucky enough to see your pro debut, who would have thought it, British Champ!

A great example of the power of effort, determination and resilience - you are a true inspiration.

If you fancy a new challenge I'll give you 50-1 if you can score a century at Lords against Australia (only joking in case you are really good at cricket!)

There is only one thing left for Curtis now, bigger than the Lonsdale belt, bigger than the bet, and he's going to find out late next Friday night if he's managed it. Has he broken into Horses P4P list?

When you appeared on that tv programme and shook hands with that guy who abused you on twitter and said "we all do stuff", my wife, who has zero interest in boxing, said what a good man.

I am very pleased for you and please get a photo with the guy and the title belt.

I have shaken hands with Darren Hamilton before and like him too. Good luck to the pair of you.

Absolute inspiration to everybody, that was one of the best moments in British boxing and won't be forgotten for a very long time. I have enjoyed following your career and have backed you against the likes of Derry because I knew you had it in you as your self belief is so high and last night you proved how good you can be. I really hope that isn't the end as we will all miss out, but if it is you have done your Dad and the rest of your family proud and you are an absolute credit to the sport.

Thanks for the memories Curtis.

Top man, well deserved. I was screaming at the TV, cannot remember the last time I was like that. You have your place in boxing history now and thoroughly deserved as well. You took the knocks and kept coming and you have earned your respect as a boxer. You dad would be so proud.
