Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
I can't be bothered about the rest but 5 KO's out of 12?? 2 draws in both fights he had his opponents hurt.. Against Rashid most think it should of been stopped but Rashid is one tough guy!! Ronnie was the first person to put him down!! Against Curran he had him hurt a good few times and IMO without the injured hand he may of stopped him.. Pudisov there was a body shot early that Ronnie hurt his hand on that doubled him over and there was 2 knockdown a in the last not counted.. Sometimes records don't show true power. Ronnie has proper power everyone whose been in the ring with him will tell you that.
Yes, 5 TKO's from 12, check his record if you don't believe me. And everyone's who's been in the ring with him has finished the fight on their feet, so he can't hit that hard.
Where you at any of the fights?? Have you seen any footage? 2 First round KO's they weren't standing!! Stupart was standing fight should of been stopped in the first his face was a mess.. Rogowski was body shot counted out. And one the lads face was mess can't rember his name.. Walsh who can take a very good shot was out in his feet at the end of the 2nd round.. Rashid who had never been down as a amateur or pro and sparring a lot of very good fighters was down 3 times.. But yes mate your right. Come up to Dundee watch some sparring?? Take part see the average power

From what i "heard" Ronnie did put Ricky down with a body shot but Ricky blamed it on a clash of shins but Ronnie never felt no shin clash??
I cant say for certainty whether it happened and even if it did nobody in Ronnie,s camp are trying to say he can beat Ricky
It is what it is
I respect Billy as a trainer but he,s acted like a prat calling people "dundee dafties" very professional mate

If this makes any waves in the week building up to Burns fight on Saturday then i bet it,s Billy who will take the hit from Burns and Morrison for getting involved in petty arguements and getting personal in such an important week in his fighter,s career
Saying that all the best Ricky,we,re all rooting for you mate(apart from David it seems

David doesn't mean what he says! He is just trying to defend me from getting hurt by the lies, it's anger talking!!! We all want Ricky to do well deep down!!! After this fight hope he opens his eyes to Billy Nelson and his true colours!!! I know The Rickster will perform on the night and I hope he does it in style ;)

For someone to say "I will be World Champion you must think your Amazing??? Not a bad thing as a boxer you have to believe in your self, but theres different ways of coming across. From what Iv read from you (and other user name as well) you come across like a Hard Man. I will do this to that one and this to this one etc etc. You might be a really nice fella but the way you come across on here as I am the Man No one could beat me etc, its childish and make your self look like a knob............. I understand that you are trying to get your name out there and get fights BUT that's what your promotor is meant to do.

Your complaining NO one will fight if i was you id give Tommy a call, you'd be able to make the fight easier tell him how much you want and need to fight... Watched Smith the Other night Looked Class so you'd want to be a 100% going into the fight, coz you'll kick your self afterwards if you lost and you wasn't 100% going into the fight...
Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
Hes a family man mate, def doesnt see himself as a hard man trust me. In Dundee any single person would say the same. Thing is hes tried the quiet route and possibly he does come across bad at times and I reckon me and David dont help and understand peoples views but we have been dragged into a personnel debate with Mr Nelson.
As for Mitchell Smith very good fighter, thing is they couldnt fight unless a title on line, Watched his interview with IFL tv and he said that hes only gonna do superfeather at title level, Also he said he isnt going to be fighting Romeo Romeau until there is more on the line and both have progressed their careers properly which FW is notorious for so why put him in with a more dangerous and experienced fighter than Ronnie? not saying Ronnie win etc just saying from what I make of interview.

It sounds like He's in a catch 22 ov by his record he can Fight and is a danger to beating boxers so why would a promotor put there Ticket Seller in with him, it's a pity that he ain't with a good promotor he said he can sell tickets and he can fight I can't see why there won't take him on.. Has he up set any of them or something?

I think Campbell is a good match for Clark. Luke isn't worth his contract if he can't beat Ronnie and there is also no shame in losing for Ronnie. He will get paid well and be live on SKY.JamieM wrote:As for Mitchell Smith very good fighter, thing is they couldnt fight unless a title on line, Watched his interview with IFL tv and he said that hes only gonna do superfeather at title level, Also he said he isnt going to be fighting Romeo Romeau until there is more on the line and both have progressed their careers properly which FW is notorious for so why put him in with a more dangerous and experienced fighter than Ronnie? not saying Ronnie win etc just saying from what I make of interview.

Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
Spot on! It is a catch 22 due to him being a high risk, low reward. never denied that and thats as plain as it gets.
He fought on prospects show in glasgow around an hour and a half away from Dundee and sold around 100 tickets and ended up doing a demo which wasnt ideal. As for upset anyone the reason he doesnt fight on Morrison shows is because the rivalry with Gilmour as he has fought on a Morrison show before at late notice before he signed with Tommy. Also McAllister's in Aberdeen put him in which although close to Xmas he didnt do as good with ticket sales but still think he sold around 80-90 on an away show which was excellent. Ronnie is a nice guy and I think that proberly banter we have doesnt help but hey Curtis called everyone and their dog out, reason he got the fight with Frankie Gavin, Ronnie was on twitter asking for advice of Curtis to how to get fights etc, Ronnie is undefeated and has confidence in himself and all his life he's been a winner and competitor, if he went into a fight believing he would get beat, he wudnt be boxing and thats a fact. Dont ever take Ronnie for me and David's behaviour and wind ups as 99% hes oblivious to it all and proberly reacts the same way as most people on here do towards us!

Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
Campbell couldnt make superfeather weight so for me its a fight that wouldnt happen. Id also say if Ronnie had any ambitions of fighting for a british then why would he move upto lightweight for such a high risk fight, if hes gonna take a risk then take it at his own weight. But thats Ronnie's managers job and for anyone that has twitter go down Ronnie's feed and you will see for both Lukes 1st and 4th fight Ronnie said he would fight him to Eddie Hearn which im assuming moving up weight so iv no doubt Ronnie would not be over awed by it.
If your asking if Ronnie would win? I dont know, Luke would be favourite, hes an olympic Gold medalist but I do know Luke wouldnt have his own way and if it were over any decent distance his chin would be tested in the fight.

A question! I think it suits both.
Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
I think it would suit Ronnie if there was a big payday on offer. Otherwise he has to move up in weight to fight a very talented prospect for peanuts.
Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
I believe Ronnie would take the fight in a second but I think Ronnie should fight at his own weight and not go to lightweight. If he loses his eliminator then fine move up and take the fight but taking such a high risk for low money would not really make sense but hey what do I know haha

It would be a 5 grand bout, on Sky, that nobody(except you and davidee) would expect him to win. His stock could only rise if he puts up a good show.JamieM wrote:I believe Ronnie would take the fight in a second but I think Ronnie should fight at his own weight and not go to lightweight. Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
I wouldn't expect him to win. That's a very very hard fight a a heavier weight. Remember Luke hasn't made the lightweight limit yet.. If it was made at 9 stone 8lbs then Campbell would be in for a test.. I think the question with him is if he can take a shot and I would be concerned as he has very skinny legs. Could he keep Ronnie off for 8-10 rounds?? Maybe.. I would much prefer to see Luke strengthen his legs and fight at his natural weight of light welter.. Think maybe a fight with Bradley Pryce or David Barnes level should be next for him. That a honest enough answermickey1975 wrote:It would be a 5 grand bout, on Sky, that nobody(except you and davidee) would expect him to win. Expecting to win? We dont expect him to win any fight. We have belief in him domestically, where have we said anything about him being above domestic and winning unrealistic fights? We have not. We believe Michael Roberts and John Simpson is realistic. Hes top 10 in rankings at number 7 and number 4 is Simpson. Simpson loses against Murray then why is it being unrealistic? Campbell is heavier and if Ronnie has ambition at his own weight then he will listen to his manager on this occasion id imagine who would say no.

I'm a super featherweight I only taken fights heavier to get in the ring!
Re: Ronnie Clark vs Michael Roberts 01/03/2014
Don't know where you're getting these rankings from, because the board don't have rankings, but even if Simpson loves to Murray, which I think he will, there's better fights out there for him, once he drops below title level and off TV is the time to retire.JamieM wrote:Expecting to win?
