Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Just read the RBR thread and this divided a lot of opinions.
Looks like this is in play for Froch Groves 2 though Tommy is gonna need a good rest after last night and possibly could move up in weight.
Brizuela is much better than anyone Mitchell has fought post Burns.
Mitchell has fought and beaten better opposition, but that was a few years ago, are his best days behind him ?
Thoughts

Mitchell will beat Coyle inside the distance. He is a clear level above for me.

Mitchell inside 4 not in the same league at all
Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Coyle is a good boxer and has shown real bottle; Mitchell hits too cleanly for him though, he'll time him and catch him bang on the spot and Coyle will go - Mitchell will have to nail him down though - Tommy Coyle has balls of steel.
Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
For all the bottle and guts tommy showed last night he has only beat journeymen and wen he has moved up in class his still only boxed against blown up super feathers/ feathers ( simpson and the guy last night). Mitchell is a proven lightweight and imo will stop coyle inside 7 rounds.

I love Coyle. Always entertaining and a good boxer. Great to watch.
Mitchell is the more skillful man and I would expect mitchell to win comfortably on points.

Coyle,s a good fighter who,s as tough as they come, how he managed to continue after they left hands to the body i,ll never know but i think Mitchell has too much for him and i would fancy him to stop Tommy late if not on a landslide points W
Kudo,s to Coyle though he,s certainly making the most of his oppurtunity that he has by being from Hull at this moment because if it wasnt for Campbell,i dont think Tommy would be headlining shows on Sky

Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Absolute joke IMO, talk of Coyle and a World title eliminator next
WTF is all that about ? The kid ain't even the best domestically so how the fuk can you try and hoodwink anyone into talk of a world title shot or even fight for a eliminator for one next ?
Mitchell destroys Coyle inside 5 rounds IMO, he got seriously hurt last night, but this time by a non puncher, the kid showed bags of heart and determination and needs credit for it, he's a decent fighter, but far from world class.

That statement can also be referred to Crollacolumbo wrote:x2Boxingcutsman wrote:Absolute joke IMO, talk of Coyle and a World title eliminator nextWTF is all that about ? I'm with you for sure. I'm kind of perplexed how guys who arent even the best domestically *it's different if you're degale and lost to Groves* are apparantly world class and deserving of world title shots. Luckily a lot of the guys you see them fighting in eliminators look worse in a lot of cases than domestic level opponents!handsofstone wrote:That statement can also be referred to Crollacolumbo wrote:x2Boxingcutsman wrote:Absolute joke IMO, talk of Coyle and a World title eliminator nextWTF is all that about ? In fairness mate, that statement I made can be referred to most of the top 2 promoters in the country's stables.handsofstone wrote:That statement can also be referred to Crollacolumbo wrote:x2Boxingcutsman wrote:Absolute joke IMO, talk of Coyle and a World title eliminator nextWTF is all that about ? All the hype surrounding certain handful of fighters at the minute is a joke IMO.
I won't name names but Non are world class or close to it tbh, same old joke, we'll hype you into a position to fight for a world title where you'll go abroad, be made to look a absolute cu nt and out classed but it don't matter at least you fought for a world title
What ever happened to the days when our fighters worked there way genuinely into title contention and really stood a chance with the worlds elite, I love this sport but the business side & bullshi t politics really do my fuking head in at times.

spot on that too many domestic level fighters being hyped to 'world rankings' these international, intercontinental titles don't help. I'd much rather see domestic level fighters fighters other decent domestic level fighters for the British even Commonwealth, rather than fight some nobodies for these crap belts for the 'ranking' and then get completely outclassed once really stepping up

Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Before Saturdays fight I would have backed Mitchell anyway.
Saturday has made me more convinced that Mitchell will win and stop Coyle - Mitchell hits very hard to the body so wouldn't surprise me to see him wear Coyle down.

Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
I think Coyle can do it. I don't think Mitchell has the heart for it anymore.
Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
I have never seen a more one-sided poll in my life.
Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
Coyle will be takin apart by Mitchell within 6 rounds easy fight for Mitchell
Re: Kevin Mitchell v Tommy Coyle
coyle got a gift of a stoppage in his last fight, how can a fighter who punches the floor in disgust with himself then be on his feet at the count of 6 with his hands by his head get stopped when coyle didnt get up till 9 on the 3rd knock down with a face like he didnt wanna go on. fornicating gift and mitchell with smash him to bits end of.
