I agree that he was lucky against Beltran but i would use the word fortunate regarding Gonzalez, fortunate that Gonzalez...........whatever it was he done, got injured, gassed or broke heart etc

2 ways of looking it are

1-Burns luck/good fortune is due to run out
2-Burns is due a great performance

cant seem to get any of crawrords fights on youtube, so dont really know much about him. it does say he 26 on boxrec....that seems a bit old for someone who hasnt done 12 rounds , but is meant to be a superstar in waiting. there's no one on his record to suggest he's a world beater. ive seen a video where tim bradley says he's fantastic, but bradley is very complementary to almost everyone.
if burns has had a good camp, and is fully fit he should be able to do an italian job on crawford....bully, hold, annoy, out-strength, and generally fukk him about...not let crawford have any space or opportunity to get his skills going. throw in a hostile crowd, away from home...try to break his heart. burns doesnt have to look good, but i think he will probably need to use his age and experience to put pressure on , and unsettle crawford

to be fair Burns looked Extremley sharp in the frist round against Beltran

hopefully he comes out like that an no injuries ect gets the job done,

i expect Crawford to have some early success and Burns closes it in the second half off fight to come home on points

I like the Watt-Davis comparison. But there's also something of McGuigan-Taylor about this too. People forget now what a good fighter Taylor was. He was in the KO magazine p4p top 12 in the months before the fight.

Ricky may find himself behind in the first 4 rounds but he must keep the pressure on and let his hands fly. Going to be hard. But Ricky at his best will win this.

It seems Crawford only arrived yesterday after missing his flight on Sunday and seems to be a bit pissed off with the weather and having to travel, he'd never had a passport before this, must have expected to get the fight at home being the Top Rank's next big star.

Very interesting fight this is. I've not been able to track down much footage of Crawford but watched a bit on BN? And YouTube and he looks decent enough. What I noticed is that he seems quite small at the weight and has a Calzaghe'esque punching slap. I don't think He's as good as the Yanks are making out and a fully fit and focussed Burns can pull the upset off here. Looking forward to watching it.

if he was that good or the yank promoters thought as much off him then he wouldnt be over here fighting,
but again could be a bradley type where hes maybe not a big seller and not as marketable as your Danny Garcia types over there and will do it the hard way and become a big name.

all will be revealed on sat

Where's the proof that his last two performances wernt his best form though? Maybe Gonzalez and Beltran were just better fighters than he's been in with before.

Funny you mention Garcia and Bradley. He beat Garcia as an amateur and he sparred Bradley prior to Bradley's win over Devon Alexander and Tim was shocked at how good he was apparantly!

Crawford on points at 2.5 with Stan James looks the bet.

good to hear Burns has been sparring the best of British for this fight , slick fighters like campbell , Selby ,ward and Mitchell

Keeping it fresh , he looked in great shape (as you would expect of course ) at the public training session
Really solid looking

I feel like Crawford is going to outclass him and stop him but a Crawford landslide victory is feasible. Although they'll have it close on the cards obviously.

Bizarre press conference from Crawford yesterday, 3 or 4 minutes of one sentence answers, sometimes one word after having to be convinced/forced to attend by his team.

I haven't found any, doubt there's much to show but plenty of papers etc have been reporting on it.

He may be better at fighting than promoting, I've seen him only a couple of times and he looked a pretty smooth boxer to me; it should be a good bout; I hope the jaw is fully healed and Ricky may have a bit more strength than Crawford - if he could bully Katsidis (seems a long time ago) he can make things very difficult for the American.

Iv seen alot of people saying that crawford doesnt look confident and is changing peoples minds about result. I watched interview earlier and honestly think he looks like hes upto the job. Not willing to talk to the media regarding the fight isnt fear its just he seems to want to let his trainer do the talking and take the heat like a certain danny garcia. I really hope Ricky can pull this one off but I have a feeling this guy is the real deal.

Has anyone seen much of Crawford? To be honest I haven't seen anything, which makes it hard to make a decent prediction. Based solely on his record, you'd wonder why people are saying he'll dominate or stop Burns.

Danny Garcia doesn't generate any controversy, but he answers the questions put to him properly, Crawford hardly said a word by all accounts. Something isn't right with him and his team to me, they only arrived in Glasgow on Monday, after missing the flight on Sunday, which is late anyway, then the mess with the press conference and Crawford having to be convinced/forced to attend, even then only for 5 minutes with a series of one word or sentence answers and there's been suggestions that he isn't happy at having to travel or with the weather. The whole thing seems a bit chaotic and it can't be helping his preparations.

The stars may be aligning for one of those rare special fights, I'm backing burns to rally late and stop a physically and mentally weakened Crawford.
