It just occured to me that Barreras appearance over here was probably not just 'friends' meeting up, as I've never heard of these two being close. It seems it was the vice-president of Golden Boy promotions coming over to sign up and out of contract world champ.

And when MAB is camping up his Mexican heritage you can often see him on the way to the ring wearing a poncho and with a broad-brimmed Hatton.

Because MAB could still make 122 maybe and Hatton fights near 150. Hatton would maul Barrera - if Zoo can't keep Hatton off how can Barrera? IF hatton fought Gatti followed by Barrera it would be a pretty sad state of affairsFoggy wrote:To be honest with you all when i knew MAB was coming over i thought that maybe he was looking for a potential future fight with Hatton, which lets face it if MAB beats Chavez & has a couple of defences at lightweight & Hatton keeps on the winning streak why wouldn't this occur ???

I'd love to hear a Mexican use the word 'daft'. "Senor Hatton, you are a proper Charlie."
Thanks for the gag credits boys. Apologies, it was a long day yesterday...
Great stuff, Coconut.
I actually personally talked to MAB at length and got the following scoop:
"Que?"
Someone close to Hatton assured me it was just a friendly visit - apparently Hatton had actually stayed with MAB over in the States and the Mexican ledge had been promising to return the favour.
However, won't do any harm though if Hatton wants a US foot in the door.

Hatton stayed with MAB in the States?
So do we reckon there is like a trade magazine for boxers only in which there was an advert:
***************************
ROOM TO LET
$75 per week
Gas Central Heating
Own Cooker
Sparring Facilities
Mexican Banter & Corona Beer
Call Marco on Los Angles 823718
****************************
So Ricky booked the room to save a few quid on hotels and it turned out to be Barrera’s spare bedroom?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/4490696.stmThe Hattons will also be ringside at the middleweight showdown between Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Vegas.
But the main purpose of the weekend will be to meet with some of America's top promoters.
"We've been invited over by Oscar de la Hoya and everyone wants a chat," added Hatton Snr.
Looks like there's something in the Golden Boy connection.
