End of the day Khan is the bloke most people wanted to see in with the worlds best in his next fight. How is that lacking ambition from Brook?
Are you seriously trying to give Brook credit for Khan's ambition?
No, I'm saying that most people wanted him to fight Mayweather, so clearly he is regarded as elite - so to answer people saying Brook has no ambition and is 'avoiding' the elite - its not unambitious of Brook and his promoter to offer Khan a huge purse. Again, the same Khan people were happy to see fight Mayweather.
Most people wanted him to fight Mayweather out of him and Maidana, that's not quite the same thing as most people wanting him to fight Mayweaher over everyone else, neither fighter would get a look in if the poll had other fighters people want to see him face on it as well.

Who regards Khan as an elite welterweight?

Lovely spin on the situation by the way.

Not sure khan needs to take a chance with kell to be honest. Khan would be the quicker but it would be a case of wether kell can hunt him down enough to hurt him. If kell hits khan, its goodnight. If he can't then khan takes it on points. Kell isn't a renowned name (yet) in the U.S so losing to him would really set khan back.

If kell wants to get in with khan he has to get in and among the top echelon in america. He is good enough to do it without a doubt.

Strikes me as amusing that people were perfectly happy to see Khan go in with the best in the world - but if Brook wants to go in with him its a joke. I know you have a few disciples to your point, but genuinely I don't get it - are you saying that Brook easily beats Khan? Is Khan done?

Who was happy with Khan potentially fighting Mayweather? They preferred Khan out of the two of them, he was the better choice in terms of styles, but I'm sure people would prefer to see Mayweather fight a Bradley/Pacquaio/GGG/Martinez instead given the choice.

I think Brook beats Khan, he's been blown away at lower weights and until I see him fight decent WWs I can't think much else. Brook is a good fighter, and I think he hits too hard and will stop Khan at some point whilst behind on the cards. I would love Khan to beat him though, but more than anything I'd like to see Brook show the same kind of ambition Khan has in his career and fight for titles against the top guys in the division. Why aren't they trying to fight Shawn Porter for a title? he's the number one challenger.

Of course I'm not, why would you just assume I thought you were the G.O.A.T. More like a Hubbard though? Maybe.

Anyway - Brook seems to have a genuine hate for Khan which is his angle for the fight, and Hearn is seeing the pound signs. Personally I can't blame either of them, I don't think anybody can really. I wish like almost everybody that Brook would have moved quicker, I can accept the eliminators and injuries, but I wish it wasn't so - the progress has been slow. I don't see this as carrying on that trend, I see it as a genuine step up, and a fight which is going to capture the imagination more that Porter ever would.

Plenty of people were just fine with Khan fighting Mayweather. Obviously there were better candidates, but people were not unhappy with the prospect of it being Khan. A look on here and social media would tell you the same.

Porter is mandated to fight Brook. Can't you understand that Khan v Brook would be a massive moneyspinner?

Personally I've completely lost interest in Brook, the momentum he gained after the Hatton fight has gone right out of the window. I'm not going to slag him off for the pullouts against Alexander as these things happen, but I'm also not going to get excited about another mismatch, 'final eliminator' or otherwise.

He really needs to fight Khan / Porter / Alexander / anyone with a shred of talent or ambition asap, otherwise he'll end up missing out altogether. His career is facing exactly the same problems as Frankie Gavin, ridiculous they've both been pro for so long & we're all still wondering how good they really are. Say what you will about Khan, but he's been in & around the elite level for a very long time.

I didn't assume anything, I just find your use of the word 'disciple' extraordinarily strange in this context. But if you want to compare me to Hubbard that's fine.

The progress has been slow? He's been number one for this or that for about five years, and he turned down a shot at Tim Bradley. If he went any slower he'd be going backwards.

Possibly. But beating Khan might lead to bigger fights than Porter.

Only if he didn't get paid for them and doesn't get paid for fighting Porter.

Porter looked good when I saw him win the title, to be honest he didn't look a flash in the pan or someone who'd roll over. I can imagine why Brook would prefer to box Khan for big money before a title shot v Porter as if he loses to Porter he's little to bargain with. I was impressed with Brook in his last fight and the one before that but he's concentrating on a lighter fighter to cash out. Khan has earned to be in the big money fights mix and Brook hasn't yet.

It was quite fitting actually, ever since you first made the argument about disagreeing with this fight and your reasons why, people have been posting it vertabim. Right, slow, but reasoning behind most of it over the last year and a bit. How many times has your boy fought over the last year?

I've seen Porter fight before a couple of times and not been that impressed but he just mauled Alexander. On that showing I think he'd beat Khan and Brook

He's not free to fight on Sky. He has one fight left with allegedly, Mayweather was the only get-out name on that Probably not allowed to have his next fight in Britain under his Showtime deal, either, because his last fight was in Britain.

I honestly wish that Brook would concentrate on getting the title shot, winning it and then start to look around for big money fights (like everyone else has to). That Porter looked fast, fit and confident and he worked hard - he's a handful and if Brook has got one eye on Khan and dreaming of a million quid instead of thinking about beating Porter then he'll come a cropper - no matter how athletic he is or how brilliant he is in the gym.

Who's my boy?

Am I now a huge Khan fan because I can't stand the way Brook's career is going? I don't particularly like Khan by the way, I just hope he sparks Brook because I can't stand the smoke and mirrors. You can say what you like about Khan but he's proved he'll get in there with the top fighters of his division, will Brook ever do that? I still have my doubts, so must you at this point.

It doesn't take much looking but it hardly matters. He is your boy in this context isn't he, the context of a brook v khan debate. It depends how smoke and mirrors you think it is, I believe Brook got 2 genuine injuries, and Alexander one, then had to comeback, fought his best opponent to date (I know, I know) and has been left in limbo a little bit by Porter winning the title. Khan not getting May weather added to that is the perfect time for it to happen. It makes financial sense for Hearn and Brook and Khan is personal.

I mean which would progress him further, beating Porter or beating Khan? I know it makes the last year a massive waste of time, but its likely a reasonable argument that he will have bigger fights upon beating Khan than he would Porter.

Funny this, I remember eddie saying he does not talk about money (the non disclosure clause about how much froch/groves are getting paid). Hes changed his tune now hasn't he??

Like most people I am rapidly losing interest in Brook, 30 fights against nobody's, turned down bradely, a million final eliminators, pulled out of alexander twice. Instead of waiting for porter why not go after Provodnikov? that guy can not buy a fight despite being champ. He wouldn't have to wait until summer for that fight. Something tells be Hearn would not be too keen.
