The Armenian is tough enough and took his lumps well but he hasn't got the power to hurt DeGale. Wide decision win at the moment or if he sustains the attack can stop this guy.
Concerned about Mick at ringside. He's doing a lot of vein busting shouting and I worry about his health.

How can any professional boxer listen to a promoter looking like that? unhealthy FBsteve689 wrote:The Armenian is tough enough and took his lumps well but he hasn't got the power to hurt DeGale. Wide decision win at the moment or if he sustains the attack can stop this guy.

Good finishing by DeGale there
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
Im`e no expert but surely if you fight for a world title(the very highest level)you`ve got to fight for 3 minutes a round???

No idea mate. What do you get for a double manslaughter these days? Ten? Fifteen?

DeGale did well to force the stoppage.
DeGale forced the pace towards the end and put on an exciting, good showing

Yeah just watched that one, Jack walked into a short right hand early on, got up but his legs were gone, knocked down seconds later and legs couldn't hold him up when rising, ref had no choice but to stop it.columbo wrote:Jack got knocked out in 1 round last night in a huge upset.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Maybe badou jack next ???????
Why not put DeGale in with Edwards.

apparently edwards is ranked really low with most bodies so its a crap fight for degale to take if he wants a manditory position.Old bones Ian wrote:Yeah just watched that one, Jack walked into a short right hand early on, got up but his legs were gone, knocked down seconds later and legs couldn't hold him up when rising, ref had no choice but to stop it.columbo wrote:Jack got knocked out in 1 round last night in a huge upset.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Maybe badou jack next ???????

I would of said Khatchikian was a crap fight to take on paper as well. But i just can't see Bika being lured to UK without a very good payday, and will he get it?
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
Eubank had a long title reign, and rarely did. Having a "world" title doesn't necessarily even mean your ranked top by that sanctioning organisation any more. I would like to see DeGale against someone who will make him work.tommo100 wrote:Im`e no expert but surely if you fight for a world title(the very highest level)you`ve got to fight for 3 minutes a round???
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
Degale has plenty of talent but he takes too many shots and doesn't hit hard enough for the very best.
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
I know they've gone down the Bika route, but they should do everything they can to get the Abraham fight. Very winnable.
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
To me there always seems to be something a bit 1950s throwback about Armenian fighters. Both in the way they look and how they go about their work. I liked Khatchikian even though he wasn't very skilled.columbo wrote:He's based in Holland but is originally from Armenia.Boxing Prospect wrote:He's from Holland ain't he?

Just watched Abraham but also checked the last WBO rankings.earsjohn wrote:I know they've gone down the Bika route, but they should do everything they can to get the Abraham fight. Very winnable.
When Steiglitz was Champ Abraham was 1 and Degale 2 so effectively Degale could force a fight there.
Not seen Bikas last couple of fights but tired of Degale treading water really hope WBC make him mandatory now.
Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
It would be a good fight with Bika but James is still switching-off and taking silly punches/allowing the other guy to come back into the fight and he got clumped a couple of times last night again. Against Bika that could be fatal because he hits harder and more often than the Armenian.....everything else is there for James; just concentrate mate!

Yeah he shipped a few good ones, DeGale's style is a bit to loose at times, he missed by miles with some shots last night.Bodyshot3 wrote:It would be a good fight with Bika but James is still switching-off and taking silly punches/allowing the other guy to come back into the fight and he got clumped a couple of times last night again. Re: DeGale - you have to admire the confidence to lead with a ri
Degale reminds me a bit of a young carl froch. You hear the hype, you watch the guy but you were/are always thinking 'if he just put 10% more in he would be awesome'. Degale very much fits that description. I feel he could have stopped the armenian guy alot sooner but sort of bumbled his way through doing enough to win the rounds.
I think degale should fight as mandatory challenger next up. I also think its a very winnable fight for him.
