Burns vs Crawford RBR
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Crawford was just better that's all. Burns has done miles better than probably anybody thought he would as a pro.

Just like all the casuals who genuinely thought Joey Abell gave Pulev trouble and put him down. Swings in roundabouts.expe wrote:And all the casuals watching will have no idea that Chisora was fat and couldn't be arsed the entire fight.columbo wrote:Eddie will be foaming at the mouth in the interview I bet, going on about how Chisora went 8 rounds.
Chisora being a lazy fat bastard is not AJ's fault. Joshua will knock Del Boy out within a year.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
I still think Gonzalez was a slicker operator myself! Crawford had the other tangibles you need though, ie the heart, stamina and so on.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Nah, I'm with Horse, Crawford's decent but he ain't anything special, well done to him though, but Ricky was nowhere near what he once was, he's fought bigger punchers, been hit hard and fired back with his own, but he didn't do that tonight, he kept backing onto the ropes and I can only remember him throwing a 3 or 4 punch combination once or twice all fight, when he did he was successful, but he just didn't do enough.columbo wrote:I think that's unfair on Crawford mate. Saying that though, I think Burns might be shot.80/20 wrote:An imposter !!!!!!!!

Abrahams wins a split decision after a cracking fight.gilgamesh wrote:What is the word on Abraham/Stieglitz....anybody's stream working where they can tell us what the result is?
Dropped Stieglitz in last round
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Absolutely. I still can't believe he beat Roman Martinez, that was a great night.Aden wrote:Crawford was just better that's all. Burns has done miles better than probably anybody thought he would as a pro.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Praise be to God. Thank you Ricky for being magnanimous. That old feck doing the commentary could learn something from you.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
not sure you really should have a rematch ricky,he`s to good for you

Classy interview from Burns there ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Zero chance of a rematch. Crawford knows it too.

I thought Stieglitz would take it this time, but that was the hardest fight to pick today I thought. Good for Abraham. Means he has at least one or two more big fights ahead of him.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
117-111 is as close as this could have been conceivably scored, and two of those rounds would be giftish.
Respect to Ricky for being a gentleman in defeat, and also being a great warrior. He could have figured out how to duck this fight.

Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
He didn't win more than 1 or 2 clear, but there were a quite a few close rounds and if all of them were scored to Crawford, it could be given to him wide, but that doesn't really reflect the fight, Crawford didn't dominate many rounds.crusader wrote:We'll have to disagree. I cannot see more than one clear round for Burns.expe wrote:Took the 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th for me and a share of another round that I can't remember, the 9th and 10th were very close, but I thought he definitely took 2 of the first 3, anything from 118-110 to 116-113 is right for me, 119-109 is a bit too wide.crusader wrote:

That's what I mean though, he looked a somewhat shot fighter.expe wrote:Nah, I'm with Horse, Crawford's decent but he ain't anything special, well done to him though, but Ricky was nowhere near what he once was, he's fought bigger punchers, been hit hard and fired back with his own, but he didn't do that tonight, he kept backing onto the ropes and I can only remember him throwing a 3 or 4 punch combination once or twice all fight, when he did he was successful, but he just didn't do enough.columbo wrote:I think that's unfair on Crawford mate. Jimm Watt is a know, Nick Halling is awful, Burns was absolutely shocking. Don't bother with a rematch.
Sorry but Ricky was a world class SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT but isn't and never has been world class LIGHTWEIGHT.

Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Burns has been going downhill ever since the Mitchell fight. A loss has been coming and is in fact overdue when you consider the Gonzalez and Beltran fights, at least he lost his title to a classy operator rather than some muppet in a voluntary defence.
Burns should call it a day, excellent career when you think back to Johanneson fight and nothing left to prove. Walk away sir and enjoy family life in good health.

Gallagher is gonna be crying tonight lol
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Crawford was always going to be difficult for him stylistically and was far from the ideal fight coming off a broken jaw, it wasn't so much Ricky looking shot, it seemed to be more of a mental thing, he didn't look confident in there.columbo wrote:That's what I mean though, he looked a somewhat shot fighter.expe wrote:Nah, I'm with Horse, Crawford's decent but he ain't anything special, well done to him though, but Ricky was nowhere near what he once was, he's fought bigger punchers, been hit hard and fired back with his own, but he didn't do that tonight, he kept backing onto the ropes and I can only remember him throwing a 3 or 4 punch combination once or twice all fight, when he did he was successful, but he just didn't do enough.columbo wrote: I think that's unfair on Crawford mate. I quite liked Crawford's interview technique as well. Refreshingly bullshit free.
Re: Burns vs Crawford RBR
Maybe he didn't look confident because of what Crawford was doing.
