Good point. The negative commentary belied the fact that Loma was giving a lot of weight away and was only in his second ever pro fight. And he hurt Salido in the last round. I thought Salido won by two rounds; but he was dirty with his repeated low blows.
Loma has amazing footwork, but his head can be quite still and he doesn't know how to fight inside. This will come.

I haven't seen the fight, but it sounds like Lomachenko was 'old manned', sort of like Bernard Hopkins does, using all the sly tricks to pull off the win and that's the problem with fighting for a world title in your 2nd fight, you don't have the experience to deal with that yet.
Solido used all his guile and grizzled pro tricks to hustle Lomachenko out of the fight.
Loma appeared unsettled by the borderline shots thrown when on the refs blindside - Loma neglected his jab and was caught more frequently then I thought he would be.
Loma's onslaught in the final round showed his stamina was OK and he certainly had Solido rocking.
That said the right man won and Lomachenko needs to go back to the gym, make adjustments, get some world class pro sparring and he can come again.
Disappointed with Lomachenko's performance but enjoyed the way Solido went about the fight
I wasnt overly impressed with Lomachenko but i think it was good gamble to take although it never paid off,he fought competitive for 12 rounds with a wiley pro and that experience is valuable and he,s too good not to come again,unbeaten records are overrated anyway and maybe even after that one fight he may be able 2 step up again after his next fight
Salido not making weight on purpose is disgraceful and should be suspended or giving a bigger fine,it,s happening more and more these days and its almost commonplace
I must say i do love watching Lomachenko,s footwork
