Who funds all the fights, Saf? The promoters... Frankie will sell for a big fight with a decent undercard. Birmingham is a big place, as you know.

Birmingham does come out for big shows, but they are greedy, they want magnificent 7 type shows, Warren has not got the fighters for that anymore, I don't think I have ever seen a show as good since in britain, anything less don't cut it for birmingham fans, the problem with birmingham is that they don't have any middle of the road stadiums, like they had before with the Aston Events centre, which was demolished and new Bingley Hall's ceilings are too low for tv, so that leave's large or small, then only large remains, Indoor Arena or the LG, which need big fights, I spoke to Dean Powell once about Birmingham shows and he expressed the same feelings has me, with regards to the ticket issues, it is what it is. Warren would have to dig deep in his pockets to get a top five quality opponent for Gavin, so far it don't look like he is prepared too, if you was a promoter and willing to do that based on ticket sales so far, boxers would be lining up to join you, just like they did with Hatton promotions when they first started, tell me how are they getting on now and how much money has Hatton lost, from his hard earned ring purses ?

Even that show had pull outs was supposed to be Macklin Barker and I think Rhodes was due to fight a solid European guy

He's WBO #14 and they're lining Frankie up for a final eliminator against Bethuel Ushona in the summer, so beating sack of shit will move him up the WBO rankings ready for the eliminator and it gets the Commonwealth defence out the way.

Fair enough, makes sense ratings wise and in the grand scheme of things I suppose. The only thing I worry about is whenever he steps up to the big time, say at world level, will he be ready and prepared for a long hard fight by going this route. Depends who the champion is I suppose.

You think this is a good move ? Firstly Gavin would not get an eliminator ranked 14 and by the way, he is in fact ranked 5 with the WBO, the champion is timothy Bradley, who could get beat by Pacman and I can't see either of them facing Gavin, they are in big money fights, the WBC route has Mayweather, that fight won't happen either, the WBA is Maidana, but he will lose that to Mayweather, the best route is the IBF, the champion is Porter, very beatable and the fight could be made, but Gavin is going to have to fight, Brook, Dan Ion or Bundy first, it looks to me like Brook and Gavin could be on course to meet, don't know what they are doing with Brook, if he mandatory why is he not fighting Porter, he could beat him, seems to me that not enough money is available, same problem as Gavin or they are not confident enough in Brook, so are looking at a stripping of the title from Porter and then a vacant title in the uk against an easier opponent, best if Brook and Gavin face each other, then we will know who has the best chance for the title.

I know Frankie's 5, but Sacky's ranked 14, so beating him will probably move Frankie up a couple of places to guarantee the final eliminator. Neither Pacquiao or Bradley would fight him, but if he's mandatory then they have to or give up the belt, it's more likely they'll give up the belt leaving Frankie to fight for a vacant title at home, it's just a case of how long the WBO take to enforce the mandatory, it's long overdue, the last one was 5 years ago. Fwank has always liked the WBO route and it's the easiest and quickest route to a world title fight, whether he'll be properly prepared is another matter.

On paper it looks right, but the elite fighters, who are on PPV's, get round being stripped, but things can change if you hang around long enough Pacman beating Bradley, not getting the Mayweather fight, so calling it a day and going into full time politics, but that could take time, but no way the WBO will strip Pacman.

It will take time, but eventually they have to call in the mandatory in, there's only so long they can wait and Fwank has a lot of influence within the WBO, they managed to get Marquez stripped within a couple of months after he didn't fight Burns.
