How about "Debutant watch -revisited" ?

Post by bripez »

I like the "Debutant Watch" series of articles and think that it would be a good idea to do a review / update a year or 2 down the line to see how the lads are getting on.

It would be interesting to see how many fights they have had and if their opinions have changed etc.

Thats a good idea mate, It me that runs the Debutant Watch series on BoxRec.

After i had done 50 interviews I did this update:

I have done 91 now I think, so when I get to 100 I will do another update on how things have progressed, some of the lads have won area titles and are moving along well.

Glad you like it :bag:

Nice one - I like your articles.

I like the fact that it is not just the England internationals but a good mix of boxers with different backgrounds and aspirations.

It would be interesting to hear how they went on - particularly those boxers who are not signed to one of the big promoters.

Something else I would be interested in would be either a "day in the life" of a boxer in training, or a series of articles leading up to a bout - how they train, what specifically do they do, what do they eat, how do they make weight etc. etc.

Great work by Jon Briggs!

I might do a debutant watch re-visited interview with Tommy Langford soon. He is now 7-0 and has recently signed with Fr*nk Warren. He has plenty of amateur pedigree as mentioned in my original interview in 2012. He also beat Callum Smith in the amateurs.
