Prime Lewis vs Prime Tyson

Post by bnovelist »

The 98-2002' Lewis vs 86-90' Tyson!

I know many of ya'll will argue that Lewis will always have had Mike's number but one fact I can't help but to overlook....

Lennox Lewis was KO'd TWICE by one punch knockouts. Tyson has to many rounds of punishment to put him away you aren't ever getting

Mike out of there with one punch and I really do believe Prime vs Prime Mike Tyson had more heart than Lennox Lewis. What do you guys

think? I believe Mike Tyson UD ala Toney Tucker type of perfomance with Mike winning on points.

i think lewis would have jabbed and moved his way to victory. in ihs prime tyson used a very very low bob and weave approach and i think with lewis height it would have made tyson fight mor eupright and therefore more hittable with lewis jab

Lewis got KO'd when he took his opponents lightly.... his own ego at fault.

Lewis would train hard for a prime Tyson... and could irk out a points decision. Lewis was an expert at keeping opponents at distance, wearing opponents down from long range...which would frustrate Mike being a close infighter.
Though if Tyson does tag Lewis, its lights out.

A young Tyson of course would be far more competitive than the version Lewis did face in 2002, though Lennox himself had also lost a step by that point.
I would say Lewis was at his prime from 1997 (1st round KO of Golota?) to 2000, rather than 1998-2002.
Lewis was almost 37 when he did beat Tyson.

Prime vs prime I think 70:30 shout in favour of Lewis
