That's bizarre. However I think they work somewhat closely with Lou Dibella and maybe even K2 promotions. Seems an odd one though.

Monaco for his next fight then. Read that Hekkie Budler will be one one of those shows later this year so they have got plans there.

Could be a greater chance of the GGG fight happening aswell perhaps.

It's about getting a fight with Golovkin then. Rodney Berman runs Golden Gloves and promotes the Monaco shows where GGG has fought a few times including his last fight vs Adama. Berman and K2 have a good working relatiokship and I can see no other reason for Murray to go this route other than to get to Golovkin.

Could be bad news for DeGale as it hints that a GGG v Chavez match up might be on the backburner meaning jnr goes down the Bika route and doubtless the WBC will accomodate him!

Bit bizarre to be honest, complains about a lack of opportunities, turns down the Sturm fight, then signs with a South African promotional company, closing off most off options outside Golovkin.

Berman's definitely no mug....Brian Mitchell, Corrie Sanders and Golvokin ain't a bad client list. And he's put on some bigg-ish shows on in the United States as well and seems to split his time between Jo'burg and the US. The cupboard is a bit bare at the moment with only Budler being the only established star on the books....this might not be such a bad move.

I think the 3 fight aspect of the deal is a key attraction. That's enough fights to win the world title and then become a free agent !

Unless there's options on the end of it, it's possible the contract states that if he beats Golovkin in November, he has to give him a rematch, make a voluntary on one of their shows or defend against another of their fighters. If he can get out of the contract straight after winning a world title, then it might work for him because he can then look to fights with Macklin and Lee, which is where the real money is for him.

Career Suicide. Where's he going to box ? A South African promoter wont be able to run a show from the UK. How can Murray draw any money anywhere else ?

Monte Carlo. He's cut out the middleman is all. There was talk of him boxing on a GoldenGloves card at Salle des Etoiles prior to his split with Hatton. Now he's set to fight three times on the same promoter's cards without having to pay a percentage to Hatton Promotions. Murray can draw money there because it's a billionaire's playground and Berman has the key to the casino door. I'm not saying he won't have to deliver if he wants to push on after this deal is up but in terms of a bird in the hand, it's a good decision.

I agree - Murray isn't a big ticket seller and he will never get home advantage like Hatton did, he seems to be making the most of his situation.
