Who would win........

Post by jessi »

........out of the most knowledgeable boxrec posters and the media in a boxing quiz ?

We should organize something like this for charity, maybe have 6 to a team and have team A and team B for both, maybe even have a team of refs and a team of promoters or something !
Even a team of boxers.

What 6 will be in our dream team ?

I vote for orbastic.

Victor Vaughn
Teddys Toupee
Columbo

Parson Cross
Mimmy

They would take some beating with a bit of notice.

:OhYes: jessi; I can't remember if I closed the fridge door. There are dozens of people who post on here that know more about boxing than I'll ever know.

Thank you for the kind thought though :salut:

OldBonesIan is very knowledgeable.

If it's a quiz on 80's/90's American heavyweight journeymen, then I've got a shot.

I wouldn't expect to be in it, but thanks Lefty. There are a few different types of knowledge on here, the facts and figures guys, the trade guys and the connected guys. There are a few who know a lot more than they let on... I will go with The Laws dream team as the best line up do far. And yes, they would beat most teams of Journo's ( but Bunce's, Lilis, Dixon etc would be a hell of a match).

Yeah the guys thats are connected closely with the sport you have to give an edge over everyone else really and there's a ton in that category.

I really doubt Lillis's knowledge on the international seems. Seems thinner than a typical paper record.

Bunce I think knows plenty though lets emotion cover his actual knowledge. Does Mr Hascup come on the British and Irish forum? HE is a monster in terms of what he knows.

This really has to be done, in a bar or something, we could even have a sky team and a box n a tion team, I'd just be happy to have a beer and watch the rivalry come out !
If anyone is reading this who wants to organize this, let's get it on.

Bunce's knowledge of the international scene is also rather limited. Genuinely nice guy but not the most knowledgeable about boxing outside of the UK. Henry Hascup on the other hand is oozing with knowledge.

I have a lot of free time, helps when you don't do homework, but there's a lot of people on here who know far more than I do, I just have a good memory so I don't forget much of what I do learn, but there's so much history in boxing that I don't know about that I'd fall short on.
