That's funny the Boxrec reporter thought that Walsh was lucky.. Most neutral opinion we got.. There is no shame in losing if Ronnie had lost we would say!! It wasn't controversial but Ronnie won that fight by 3 rounds..mickey1975 wrote:Only the Scottish thought it was controversial... Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
I thought Ronnie beat Walsh even with a round missing which wasn't recorded I still would have had Ronnie nickin it.
Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
lets get back on topic, and no disrespect to anyone on here....but it doesn't include Ronnie Clark.
I'd love to see Limond against Woodhouse and i'd get a ticket for that one for sure.

Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
No, he drew, 5 rounds to 5, the difference between them is 0, not 3. You're his brother, probably the most biased opinion possible, not a dig at you by the way, understandable when it's your brother in there, but it's hardly the most reliable opinion on a fight.daviddee wrote:That's funny the Boxrec reporter thought that Walsh was lucky.. Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
Like I said the Boxrec reporter had Ronnie winning the fight.. Go read his report.. He got swayed initially by the home crowd then put his opinion that Ronnie should of won.. I may be his brother but I score rounds fairly whenever he fights no point blowing smoke up his arse see rave happening too much on here... Wood house v Limond makes a great fight very much a 50/50.. Carslaw will loose to Selkirk unfortunately . Cornish not ready to be near a British title fight and Butcher we don't know Satchell fight was close I had Butcher winning. But very close fight
Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
Couldn't find the Boxrec report, nothing before April 2013 in the news section, when I googled it I found a couple of reports in the media around Norwich about Walsh being robbed and Ronnie celebrating as if he had won and this thread from the time of the fight http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f ... 5&start=25 You admit yourself it could have gone either way, as does everyone else on the thread.daviddee wrote:Like I said the Boxrec reporter had Ronnie winning the fight.. The Boxrec reporter got banned from the norwich shows because he said Ronnie won. People from Norwich felt Ryan won. Wheres Ryan from? lol , Maxi Hughes fight was closer than Walsh fight I felt in which Billy believed Ronnie won but that fight for me a draw could be argued, there was no chance Maxi won it but the main point was Ronnie didnt lose it! Anyways all pointless we will see in the next year what happens. Ronnie will stop Simpson!! and thats coming from a Simpson fan. Ronnie all wrong for him and hell walk onto Ronnie's shots!

D'ya mean will stop him 'if' it happens or is it actually happening?

'Simpson can't take shots from bigger hitters'daviddee wrote:Haha but I need to live in the real world.. You really don't have a clue mate.. I'm not going to disrespect the other 3 as I like them especially Ryan Collins who spars Ronnie a lot but none of them are anywhere near ready to share a ring with Ronnie and I'm sure really they would all admit it. Dave Savage is a great boxer but just too small and doesn't hit hard enough.. Roberts and Collins need more experience. I'm sure Morrison and their trainers would say that himself. As for Simpson he has shown time and time again he can't take the shots for bigger hitters. Ronnie is bigger and stronger than John. John will fight anyone but Ronnie is all wrong for John. I hope this fight happens we see this as a great 50/50 fight where John would be favourite but we will see what would happenmainman1 wrote:think you dont live in the real world man. ronnie has been injured and already has a fight with kays if and thats a big IF he wins then you should worry about ronnie being in the papers about british title.daviddee wrote:It's actually funny how these are mostly Gilmour fighters. I think out of all his fighters / Paul Grahams fighters the best chance of a British Champion from Scotland is either Ian Butcher or Ronnie Clark.. Seems to me that Tommy wants to push other fighters ahead of Ronnie!!
willie limond will fight curtis woodhouse 100% so that is news, kris carslaw has had his eliminator sorted for a date. gary cornish we can agree is going nowhere. out of the 3 gilmour fighters ronnie deserves to be in front of 1 cornish.
my opinion is that ronnie will get badly exposed when he fights a good boxer because he still looks raw and caught between being a boxer and kickboxer but i dont think hes the best in scotland and would see john simpson, mick roberts, david savage and ryan collins all give him problems and beat him with simpson likely to stop him.
im sure he will get pushed when he deserves it not because he thinks he deserves to be pushed but right now man he needs to practice boxing lol
What a load of bollocks. What about Foster, Mathews, Smith, Choi and Appleby? He was stopped by Selby, who's a top class fighter anyway, when he should really have been moving up to super feather, an early stoppage against Coyle, at lightweight, where he should never have been fighting and the same for Murray, who's a class above him regardless of weight and is a huge lightweight as well.

I watched the fight and though Ronnie just edged it, let's face it you get a draw in the opponents home town you have generally won the fightmickey1975 wrote:Only the Scottish thought it was controversial... I think everyone including Billy has said Ricky got lucky. What more do people want?? Ryan Walsh was fortunate in that fight but it's not the end of the world. Every fighter is only as good as his last fight.
Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
Good to see so many people commenting. Seems most think Butcher is favourite against Satchell, Limond - Woodhouse is 50-50 and Cornish and Carslaw are outsiders.
Latest update on Butcher after losing the purse bid to allegedly yesterday. His manager Paul Graham says he will destroy Satchell in Liverpool. http://adamhendersonjournalism.wordpres ... e-rematch/

Re: Four Scottish boxers in line for British title fights
Butcher recently blew away a super bantam in a round.
Satchell's last fight was an uninspiring performance over 12 rounds.
This will be a great rematch if it happens. But I think Satchell will vacate.

Agreed, To be honest found it hard to see where Butcher's level was before he fought Satchell as hard weight to judge but hes looked a class act and seems to work very hard! Also think he seems to have the right people behind him who want to take him where he needs to get too and are willing to beg and borrow to get him in a strong position.
