dont be fooled by the ticket circus
froch - groves is a very big event. it is not really a boxing fans fight. it is a monster corporate show and will be seen live by corporate punters. if you want to support boxing watch it on the telly and get down to the local boxing hall when next you can - they wont rip you off.
I never bother with trying to buy scandalously priced tickets for events like this - I hate to say it but it is a mugs game trying to get them...maybe a very few will succeed in getting a few miles away from the genuine live action (take your binoculars or watch the giant screen) but my point is...don't get upset. your local venue will provide good boxing action and you wont feel cheated.

Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
I know what you mean but unfortunately I've got to try explaining that to the other 13 people in my party, when 3 massive organizations come together (matchroom, sky and wembley) it should be easy work getting tickets, this happens all the time and it's unfair ! The majority of people attending this show will now be paying way over the odds for a ticket.

life gets more frustrating as time goes on - greed gets more pervasive - I'm just sorry you wont get your moneys worth. I just hope you support your non-rip off local boxing shows

We support grass roots in hope someone makes it big time, then when they do we can't attend :xmisterpunch wrote:life gets more frustrating as time goes on - greed gets more pervasive - I'm just sorry you wont get your moneys worth. I just hope you support your non-rip off local boxing shows

Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
yeah but then you have the edge over the arrivistes by being a fan from the first bout and therefore much kudos
Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
Yes ur right don't be fooled. I tried for 2hrs from 11.55 only to be told they had sold out that I should try viagogo for tickets as they are selling only bit more expensive. I checked viagogo £30 we're going anything between £100-150. I smell a rat!
Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
It would be interesting to see a thorough investigation into the mechanisms used. I've not got a problem with the secondary markets but if the official ticket seller is putting up the 'sold out' sign and it is actually them selling the marked up tickets on Viagogo and similar, I may reassess my outlook slightly.Bandit wrote:Yes ur right don't be fooled. They are Swiss and a huge company. This is just an everyday event to them.spudder56 wrote:Sklar wrote:It would be interesting to see a thorough investigation into the mechanisms used. Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
My missus is a huge fan of Ant & Dec (I know) and I wanted to get her tickets for Xmas to their live tour this summer.
They were on sale on Ticketmaster for £25-£45 or something similar, when I clicked to book they said sold out, why not try GETMEIN where the same tickets were £88-£154.
Ticketmaster own this company so they've basically sold themselves the tickets and marked them up like a tout would.
Probably the same will happen with big boxing events. How is this legal?

I'm guessing you want Cardiff? There are some(very few) available on See Tickets right now. For things like this they often pop up later on.youngrell wrote:My missus is a huge fan of Ant & Dec (I know) and I wanted to get her tickets for Xmas to their live tour this summer.

Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
Thanks Mickey, it is for Cardiff but I've already got tickets sorted. Got hospitality box for £60 which is crazy considering the cheapest normal tickets are up to £88. Happy with that though.

Ok Dec UD then. He doesn't have the power to trouble Ant's dome.misterpunch wrote:not since the hand injury - he's afraid to throw it with any force these days
Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
I dunno, man. Ant seems to be the slightly more chirpy of the two. Dec seems to have a harder edge to me.Final round wrote:misterpunch wrote:ant versus dec? - I see dec getting to him by 7 or 8 with that lethal right hook

Besides, Ant got blinded in Byker Grove, so he wouldn't be able to see anything.

Re: dont be fooled by the ticket circus
Wake up people. Hat tons did the same thing for Ricky's fights. The grey market is a lucrative business. Not just for touts
