Waste of time having the British on the line, both have already held it,im not sure either of them have too many aspirations for the Lonsdale for keeps,Chisora is European champ, why not have that on the line and let Joshua,Lewison fight for it on Froch undercard?

Cant believe Pulev is Derecks mandatory
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
Joshua doesn't deserve a shot at the British title yet.handsofstone wrote:Waste of time having the British on the line, both have already held it,im not sure either of them have too many aspirations for the Lonsdale for keeps,Chisora is European champ, why not have that on the line and let Joshua,Lewison fight for it on Froch undercard?
Fury vs Chisora II should be for the British title even if they vacate it soon afterwards.
The British title should be held by the best in Britain unless they are a world champion.
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
Is this fight actually a stadium fight?
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
Not a fight i really give a toss about. I'd prefer to see Fury fighting the likes of Pulev now.
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
I think that's the plan but I dont see it being that way. The only way I can see it getting fairly big is if Fury goes into full scale pantomine mode and tricking the public into thinking he has real beef with Chisora. He's good at that though so it's a possibility.leforge wrote:Is this fight actually a stadium fight?
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
I'd like to see that too, purely because it would put an end to the myth that Fury is any good, but what has he done to get a crack at Pulev? Pulev is ranked #1 by at least one organisation, and Fury's signature wins are against a washed up cruiser, and Chisora, whose best performances are all defeats.columbo wrote:Not a fight i really give a toss about. Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
It's not nearly as big as they will think it'll be.leforge wrote:Is this fight actually a stadium fight?
I'm not 100% that it quickly sells out an arena to be honest, never mind a stadium.
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
Fury would smash Pulev to pieces.SamWise72 wrote:I'd like to see that too, purely because it would put an end to the myth that Fury is any good, but what has he done to get a crack at Pulev? I must be the only one who thinks its a decent fight in that division, for over here anyway.Fury would beat Pulev hes an overated slow lump.
Any ideas when tickets go on sale?

Pulev ain't no great shakes but he could beat Fury. He is a bit of a plodder and not sure he carries big power. Maybe enough to stop Tyson though. Its a fight I'd like to see. Hasn't Furys camp turned it down already?
I think Furys first loss is coming against the first real banger he faces

It's an interesting match up, but no stadium fight. Even The O2 may be too big, and that's with the London ticket sellers in tow.
Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
Ha! Pulev isn't the second coming of anyone good, but he'll throw a decent number of hard accurate punches off a good regular jab, and that's all that's required. Fury has a dodgy chin, bar room boxing skills, and is running out of puff just when Pulev is getting stronger. Comfortable win for Fury. It's beyond me what anyone sees in Fury other than a bit of a giggle.Horse wrote:Fury would smash Pulev to pieces.SamWise72 wrote:I'd like to see that too, purely because it would put an end to the myth that Fury is any good, but what has he done to get a crack at Pulev? Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
It would fit nicely in the o2.
They would have to promote the shit out of it but thats not hard to do. Have a little ruckus perhaps ( heaven forbid somebody gets pushed though, ala Froch/Groves
) let Fruy run his mouth and Del Boy come back at him etc
Decent undercard and there you have it

Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
The last one filled half the Wembley Arena (they divided the area down the middle). I'm guessing the crowd was about 5000-6000. If the fight is promoted well enough then I can see the O2 being a possibility (14,000+). Both fighters are a lot more well known now.
Also from my perspective, I'm pissed off I couldn't get tickets for Froch/Groves ... so, assuming the ticket system isn't as crap as the one on Monday, I'd be tempted to go just to get my live boxing fix for this year. Whereas I might have othwerwise been content to watch it on TV. Of course, the flip side of that is that people who are going to groves/Froch might not see the point in shelling out another £50 - £150 to watch a smaller-scale fight a couple of months later.

Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
I even think the 02 is too big for this.
It's not as if they haven't ever met and it wasn't a great fight 1st time.
Think a smaller venue - maybe Wembley arena? How much does the CopperBox hold?
If its outdoor it will be west ham as FW seems to have that as a preferred venue.
Of course, regardless of venue the weather in July will be warm so anyone going I'd advise to wear a polo shirt and some light linen trousers.

I thought it did more like 4500.Benelio wrote:The last one filled half the Wembley Arena (they divided the area down the middle). I'm guessing the crowd was about 5000-6000. Re: Tyson Fury Vs. Dereck Chisora II for the British title
If the word is true, and we are talking fickle boxing here, the blubbery duo of Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora are to meet again, possibly in July, in a 12-rounder for the vacant British heavyweight title.
The two of them first met in July 2011 at Wembley, where Fury proved a bit too clever and quick-handed (what!) for a knockout-minded Chisora and picked up a unanimous verdict after 12 reasonably entertaining rounds. Chisora shook up Fury early, probably too early, after which he loaded up and allowed Fury to build up the points. (Willie Pep is spinning in his grave.)
Since then, neither man has really set the world on fire. Chisora did pick up the European title (a title which could also be on the line on the night) and went in with Vitali Klitschko and David Haye, to get nowhere; Fury did stop the smaller Steve Cunningham in seven exciting rounds in America but was floored in the second - and all the best heavyweights are located rather East of the States these days.
Fury reminds me of Gerry Cooney, you know, the giant New Yorker who lacked something at the very highest level. This sounds harsh of a man who is unbeaten in 22 fights but why not make a serious move with the huge Manchester gypsy, a pro since 2008? OK, Chisora showed that 'moves' sometimes don't work out but the lary Londoner could do a Frank Bruno and try, try, try again until one does, although I should add here that Chisora does NOT remind me of the superfit, heavy handed, likeable Bruno.
In the meantime, both fighters settle for the rematch and at least it should be another entertaining biff; at least everyone involved will be earning; at least I won't be there.
