TV companies please dont devalue the Lonsdale belt !

great to see boxing on c5 this evening and well done to Bob Ajisafe for winning the fight- being a traditionalist it was hard to hear about the MAXINUTRITION CUP in the same breath as the coveted Lonsdale belt, it was almost an aside that this 'quarter final' was for the British title.
I know tv needs sponsorship but lets not lead the public into thinking that the sponsors cup is more important than Lord Lonsdale!

The issue is that without that sponsorship, the tournament wouldnt be happening im sure.

I think last nights show was a good thing for boxing ......The Ajisafe / Francis fight was evenly matched and was entertaining with a few twists and turns keeping each one in the fight at times a bit of background on the fighters giving an insight into lives outside of boxing breaking the steriotypes with fashion and university degrees is the way to connect with a wider audience and can only be good for the sport.

To be fair I didnt see the second fight but will watch it on catch up which is another bonus as its on demand.

maybe throughg th series they could have built up the Lord Lonsdale history ect and even the area titles to allow more people to know about that with some stats and who has held it and went on to win what.

But also as mentioned in a previous post without the sponsorship there would be no show

This fight was so much better than anything on the Sky card, a really evenly matched British title scrap with two men digging deep and laying it all out for the coveted belt. Reminded me of the good old days of Friday Fight Night.

I do agree it was crazy to hear the interviewer saying more about the Maxi Nutrition semi-final than the fact that Ajisafe had probably just completed a life goal by winning the British title.
