lovely fella and an absolute giant of a man height wise. I don't think Ronald has boxed but he is a studious knowledgeable fan of the noble art.

Ronald MacDonald may be a lovley guy; but he is the worst sporting commentator / presenter on TV. He clearly got the job through affirmnative action. And his tongue is too big for his mouth.

He was okay-ish at the Olympics; lots of big, bouncy enthusiasm and a few good factoids. At least he seemed to give a toss and some of the energy of the Copperbox came through his pieces.

But let's face it, the Beeb has not had anyone really good on their boxing beat for years and years now and that's because they don't want/need to hire a specialist and they cover the sport with general presenters who could be doing cross country, hockey or snooker the next weekend. Ben Dirs is probably the only specialist on their staff and he seems to be entirely based on the web which is a shame.

Costello is an excellent commentator and reporter and a shame he is not used more and I'm surprised Sky haven't used him instead of Halling. However, Sky love that over dramatic kind of commentary and Costello is too composed and cool for that. He's on point.

Big Ron hasn't boxed I don't think but he is a true media professional. His podcast is well put together and he's very knowledgeable.
