For me Brook has good skills but his offence is limited, he relies way too much on the straight right hand. I suspect Brook will come up short when he starts mixing it at the very top level, if he ever gets there. He 'may' beat the likes of Mallignagi, not sure about Porter, only seen a small clip but was not that impressed, but I'd favour Khan and Maidana to beat him comfortably. I give him no chance against Mayweather or Pacqiuao, also very little chance against Marquez or Bradley. I seriously doubt he will ever face any of the last 4 elite named, but stranger things have happened.

Whatever happens with him, he needs to get a move on. I'm tired of hearing about potential fights with so and so and how he will be a major force at welterweight. Its time to put up or shut up for team Brook.

Sorry guys just got to say it how it how it is Kell Brook is a hype job! He hasn't done anything yet to suggest he is world class.

He needs to stop fighting at 147lb and move up to 154lb as it's effecting his chin and stamina.

Mark my words stylistically if he fights Porter that would be the worse thing for him. I've said on this forum numerous times Kell can not fight inside. And is most comfortable on the outside Porter would absolutely Maul him!

Regardless whether we all think Kell is going to be world class or not, people in Team Khan obviously think so.

In the case of Khan, if someone is publicly telling you (and the world) that there is $5m on the table to fight a guy you think is not on your level...

... you would be driving to that person's house with a pen to sign it as soon as possible.

Instead Khan told iFilm "ah well, my team.. my team have not received a contract... err...I'm a boxer.. I don't have any involvement in that side of things. Ya get me. But err Kell Brook is not on my level at all. Ya get me."

If they fight Collazo I think they're doomed personally.

The bogeyman will whup the wasteman. :oo

Not saying if it was or was not, just commenting that Khan said his team did not receive anything, would be a great fight, but better with world title on the line, Khan don't need Brook at present, but Brook needs Khan, if Brook wins the world title against Porter or Mallinaggi, which I think he will, that could change the other way round, if however they both win a world title, which could happen, then it is geared up for a massive fight.

I think you've at least half a point there mickey. Brook looks really good when he's on form; I think it's hard for him to get to the weight and maybe a fair bit of a camp is just to get the excess off. I think Bundu would be a good test and a very good scalp; I think Thurman is a very dangerous fight for Brook and Porter was a very good amateur, is undefeated and took his chance with both hands - I think he'll take some beating and I agree with some other posters that it is presumptious to expect world champions over here to defend against our favourites (in their hometowns); some of the decisions lately may have made it a touch easier to refuse.
Brook found his level in the first Carson fight. If he finds it hard to make welterweight to the extent that it affects his ability to prepare properly for fights he should move up to light-middleweight. Brook never wins a world title.
And you know that for sure do you? Doubt is one thing but completely writing off a talented fighter is a bit naive. My worry with him is whether he's fully focused and whether he wants it as much as others do. The skills and power are there, seems to have a decent chin too. You can't judge him on the first Carson fight when he made lighter work of him the second time round. I think he can mix it with some of the best WWs but we'll find out either way when he gets his shot.

Safeerah,

The offer was legit, but Amir is taking a fight on the undercard of Floyd with a view to facing him in September so there was no need for Hearn to take it any further than that and waste lots of non-productive hours with Sky bosses drawing up something. The offer was made in principal and could have been publicly accepted then put together.

I forecast Amir is crushed like an egg under a jackboot by Collazo, and the Mayweather fight is laughed off for ever being considered in the first place.

Then Eddie drops the offer from $5m to $1m.

If the offer was legit, why was it made on Twitter and not in writing? If you know it's legit, I take it you have seen the letter or contract to Khan or Golden Boy actually making it.

Surely being weight drained at 147 will effect your punch resistance?

Maybe Eddie can print off them emails and show them to cameras ? :D

Look, we are can and argue over what vehicle the offer was made (twitter, email, letter, carrier pigeon) but it was made.

The irony of Amir's latest interview with Kugan, is he is saying that the offer is actually not that great to face Floyd Mayweather and nowhere near the telephone numbers people think he'd make.

But he is wanting "his shot" at the best. Which is fair enough I suppose, but looking at it from a business point of view, it's actually garbage then to do that - you know, face a man for pennies who will whup you senseless.

When you can take a fight that many pick you to win , on British television, for a bumper pay cheque.

You have to get rid of that obsession you have with khan, you seem to really hate him for some reason, I don't like some of the things he does, but I respect what he has achieved.

Collazo got a good win v Ortiz but that doesn't make him a killer; he's a good box fighter with decent power and he's been exposed by good boxers before. Anyone really questioning Khan's bottle or business sense hasn't seen him box and doesn't appreciate how well he's done at a young age. I imagine 95% of world ranked fighters would love to be a pound behind him.

Very true, give credit where is due. One performance against a shot fighter does not make you invincible.

It's a known fact kell struggles to make the weight an insider told me walks around north of 165lb having to lose so much weight can effect his punch resistance
