So if Clarkson/Duncan goes the distance we'll be treated to highlights

The one fight on the bill I have any interest in, isn't being shown, with Tom McAssey, after 4 fights, 2 of which were narrow wins, at home, against fighters who had never won, is higher up the bill. This tournament is turning into a complete waste of time, all that promotion and they don't even show half of it, what a waste of time.

I really do not understand how a fighter with, what is it? 9-3 record? Never boxed out of his home country or has only once? Fighting for a European Title?

European Union and Spanish champion, winning the EU belt pushes you towards the EBU title. Problem is that there's only 84 active Super Bantamweights in Europe, 10 have never won a fight and as you go through the rankings, the list of available opponents gets shorter and shorter, Frampton, Quigg and Martinez have moved past European level, Boxrec have Cristian Montilla, 4(2)-3(2) ranked 19th, shows the lack of depth in the division.

How can something this simple be fucked up so badly? I was enthusiastic about the tournament, only to find some of the fights aren't being shows live in full.

Channel 5 just won't be willing to give it the required air time I'd imagine. They are probably banking on Awad running right over the Spanish kid and the showing a replay of the Clarkson fight.
I like the idea but it might take till the semi finals for this to catch on fully

There's a two hour slot which is enough time to show both the tournament fights. Leave Kid Galahad to another day or don't bother hyping up the tournie at all. I've watched Clarkson several times on Coldwell shows and he's generally an entertaining fighter, not flashy but tough and aggressive. I was looking forward to seeing him fight live on TV.

I understand that, and I agree to an extent, but surely a European title fight has to take center stage over a central area belt? I'd rather watch Galahad than either of the other two fights, however I do feel all three fights should be broadcast. I see your point about it seeming off to hype this tournament and then not bother broadcasting it all

Yeah, I'm not dismissing the Galahad fight at all, I'm just saying if it's the Maxinutrition Tournament, don't muddy the waters. Put Galahad on another day.

Boxing fans love to moan. You're getting boxing on a channel available to the whole country at prime-time on a Saturday night for the second week running, and yet fault is found because Clarkson-Duncan isn't getting shown live.

It's shocking that the prestigious MaxiNutrition Knockout Tournament is being treated this way by a major broadcaster isn't it?

It is annoying when the only quarter final that interested me isn't being shown live, they've tried to build the tournament up and now they're not showing half of it, it's a waste of time and money.

Who says they aren't showing it? They've already shown both previous quarter finals, and will likely show both of the others tonight, even if it is on a slight delay (or even highlights, heaven forbid).

The tournament will not be ruined if the nation doesn't get to see the entirety of a Central Area title fight.

I really don't see what the issue is. This isn't Sky or allegedly we're talking about. We should be happy boxing is getting the exposure on C5, not constantly picking fault.

There's 2 1/2 hours of boxing on the telly every Saturday night, but I have no interest in Galahad boring me to death and I'm not that bothered by McIntosh-Dickinson, but Channel 5 show shite every Saturday, why don't they give it an extra half an hour and show all 3 fights?

Once again, how do you know they won't show all three, even if not live.

Again, Ch5 aren't a dedicated sport/boxing channel like Sky/allegedly, they can't be expected to put out a three hour show just so you can see Clarkson-Duncan in its entirety.

McIntosh v Dickinson is more likely to be TV friendly viewing I'd have thought.

I dont see why expecting to see all the fights in their entirety of a tournament thats being hyped up is a big deal, its a boxing programme, they have being showing the draw etc so instead of talking show the fights if their struggling for time

At least Witter/Maxwell isn't being broadcast :P

Plus if Channel 5 are trying to wind in casual fans then tournaments are always a good way of doing it,Joe Public love the format, eliminations, finals, winners etc so i hope we do get to see all of the main 3 fights
