There are 606 boxers registered for this competition-506 Men and 100 Women-over thirteen weight groups from 105 nations.
There are also 175 reserve boxers who have been registered
Medals will be earned.

It seems Cuba can only afford to send three boxers. 56 kg Javier Ibanez, 60 kg Alain Limonta and 91 kg Yordan Hernandez.

Mike do you know what is going on in Dominican Republic? Jr Team Usa has booked flights there for tournament 25-30th of this month but can't find any information

The USA youth team are joining up at their training centre prior to flying to Sofia on April 6.

In March 2013 there was a junior tournament in the Dominican Republic which attracted the Cuban team but I have heard nothing about a 2014 version.It was known as the Zapata cup.

I guess they are doing it again this year team Usa is sending 4 man team today. Very strong Irish team, Irvine just beat Cuban world champ, Willie Donoughue is current world junior champ, Cully won the European youths last year and got best boxer award, Johnny Joyce is the European Junior champ and Luke Thomas is a slick operator also Wayne Kelly is a strong kid.mike222 wrote:Ireland Squad

The womens team has Ginty world junior champ and best female u16 in the world and Desmond is also top class winning a silver at last years world youths.

The 114 is very good should win it. The 165 from Australia won it last year and just come off a Brandenburg Cup gold also best boxer at the cup
