great minds think alike mate, exactly my thoughts.josh fg wrote:Its Audley for me for three resons,
1) Audley will work to the body on the inside and danny will run out of steam as not many heavyweights can hurt to the boddy like harrison.
2) To start out with Williams will be too small and frustrated by audleys jab and loose early points and forced into rash attempts to take audley out later on.
3) I can;t think of much south paw experiance Williams has had and as he tires that will start to matter because he will rely more on instinct and move to his right into audleys left.
Audley by KO rnd 8-11

Danny seems to look in good shape from the latest pics on Fw's site.

Looks like Danny is planning on turning up then....
Going to be interesting, we should find out a lot about Audley Harrison Sat night. Logic says Harrison should win: younger man, good skills, decent punch, Danny on the slide....but you never know with heavyweights.
Aud says he wont be lacking in the heart department, but does he really know how he'll react in a crisis? Don't think he does. And we'll no doubt find out if those rumours about his chin are true or false.

is Audley younger? Not by much then.
Danny has fought at a higher lever than Audley looks more powerful than Audley and has been tried and tested, i have seen nothing to suggest that Audley has, or hasn't (except for not having stepped up till now), got what it takes, so Ill go for Danny, who looks like he is coming in a the right weight (huge difference in his performances when he gets that right), mid round stoppage by Danny.
Wow thats a long sentence

Yes, I think Audley is deluding himself a little, he's not faced anyone who hits remotely as hard as Williams, and he's never had to pick himself up off the floor to win.
It's a bit like me saying that if someone pulled a gun on me I'd disarm them in a flash having never done it before. I might like to think so, but how the fornicate do I know.
Danny for all his deficiencies as a fighter has proven time and again that you can knock him down, but he keeps trying to get up until the referee stops the bout. He's never yet been knocked out for the count, I think he made it up before 10 against Vitali.
The weigh in tells us a lot, if Williams comes in around 255, then I give him a good chance. I don't think Audley hits as hard as Vitali, and certainly not as hard as Tyson, so he will probably have to box his way to a win or late stoppage.
If Danny is in shape, then he should carry his power into the later rounds, I just hope he doesn't turn in another negative hesitant performance, like he did in the 2nd and 3rd fights against Sprott.
I'm backing Audley, but very tentatively.

I don't expect Audley's chin to let him down particularly, he knows how to take the sting out of punches and does it fairly well. It's his hugely questionable conditioning level that will see him finally exposed. This is going to be a strength sapping fight and I just can't see him having anything left after 6 rounds, certainly not enough to win the fight with.

DAN'S THE MAN
HEAVYWEIGHT SHOWDOWN: COUNTDOWN TO THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN Tyson backs Williams to beat Harrison and win world title
David Anderson
Tyson knows all about Williams' punching power and the former undisputed heavyweight champion suffered his most crushing defeat at the hands of the Brixton brawler when he was battered into submission inside four brutal rounds in Louisville 18 months ago.
Williams was then beaten by Vitali Klitschko when he challenged for the WBC crown in Las Vegas 12 months ago.
Tyson bounced back from a similar defeat to James Buster Douglas to become king of the division and he feels Williams can do the same.
"I like Danny," said the controversial New Yorker. "He's a good fighter and he should do well.
"Just because he lost to Vitali doesn't mean that it's over for him or anything. This is the game where guys get knocked outthree times, four times, and then they come back and become champions. "It's all about perseverance. That's the whole thing about this sport and that's the nobility of this sport.
"There's the struggle and coming back from seemingly unbeatable odds, isn't that what this sport is truly all about?
"You never lose until you actually give up. If Danny hasn't given up and he continues to press for his goal and continue to look for success then it's up to him how far he wants to go."
Tyson had less to say about Harrison and confessed during his recent speaking tour of Britain that he didn't recognise the 2000 Olympic gold medallist when he first bumped into him.
He claims he has never seen Harrison in action, even though the unbeaten southpaw has fought six times in the United States.
"I've never seen him fight," he said in an ITV interview to be shown in their Big Fight Special for Saturday's show at London's ExCel.
"I met him a long time ago, he's one hell of a guy, I like him, but I've never seen him fight."
Tyson, 40, quit the ring after his humiliating loss to Kevin McBride back in June but plans a comeback in the new year, possibly against Antonio Tarver.

Harrison V Williams
People seem to be writing Williams off here as tired worn out and lacking ambition - Williams blows hot and cold and on a good night he can beat the best - I think he is going to surprise us with a huge effort and could KO Harrison although the most likely result is either man on points - Harrison to KO Williams to me seems a bit improbable - I think Williams can take all Harrison has to offer but can Williams win in the battle for points? If it does go the distance I think Harrison might just get it.

I reckon there's a good chance Aud might KO Williams - his punch resistance might have gone after that Vitali shell hacking. There's no way he's a better fighter as a result of it. Those were some serious hits Danny took that night.
Bit like the way most fighters were never the same after Trinidad beatdowns.
But there's still the question marks over Harrison's chin...and heart. That's what Danny and Jimmy Mac will be counting on.

American promoter Don King has revealed he is very interested in bringing WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster to England in early 2006 to face Williams, who is promoted by King's one-time partner allegedly, in what would be the first 'world' heavyweight title fight since Lennox Lewis blasted out Frans Botha in London in the summer of 2000.
King told SecondsOut: "I know Frank has Danny Williams, a courageous heavyweight and this unbeaten heavyweight (Matt) Skelton and I think Brewster coming to England to give either of these two Great British heroes a shot at his title is something which would electrify the British Isles in 2006.
