I agree with many, the only ones I find absurd are Foster & Sanchez.

I'd add Napoles as well. Great fighter but really lacks the resume for being the #1 welter of all time.

I think Napoles on his best day could beat any welterweight, but it's only an opinion.Tough to compare different eras.

Moore is also ridiculous, no way he rates over Charles. You're getting warmer though, Foster wouldn't hit my top 20.

Agreed, I think Ray is a given there. Missed that one, though not as egregious as the other two. Bob actually makes me LOL when I see that. I think he's ridiculous in the top 10.

The only thing outlandish is Moore, but we've covered that. Personally Wilde and Canto are below LaBarba, Villa & Newsboy Brown but that is certainly debatable.

I don't see Moore as being outlandish as it's hard to decide where to put Charles.

LaBarba was a beast at fly though and is by far the best imho.

I know everyone will disagree but I'm not sold on Willie Pep, and think Roberto Duran is very debatable, but great list. I mean nobody is going to agree 100%.

Nice to read different opinions and then for the original poster not to get all defensive.

You're missing 4 weight classes. I guess I'll be the one to point that out.

How so? It's easy for me, clear #1 as I have Moore #2. Beating him 3-0 has to carry weight. It's not like Ezzard doesn't have a long list of victims. If Ezzard isn't #1 you have to go away from Moore imo. That's pretty clear cut.

Chavez Snr would have beaten Pryor at light welter.

No love for Olivares at bantam?

I think so too. But I think Chavez was a little diminished at 140. I think there are better candidates for top spot.

I think Chavez was better at 140 than he was at 130.

Straw: Lopez
Jr Fly: Gushiken
Fly: LaBarba
Jr Bantam: Watanabe
Bantam: Jofre
Jr Feather: Morales
Feather: Pep( tempted to take Armstrong or Canzoneri but their resume at the weight isn't quite there)
Jr Light: Mayweather
Light: Duran/Leonard
Jr Welter: Loi
Welter: Robinson
Jr Middle: Hearns
Middle: Greb
Super Middle: Jones
Light Heavy: Charles
Cruiser: Holyfield
Heavy: Louis

Jr Welter is the toughest off of the top of my head. Lots of guys in the mix, Pryor, Chavez, Locche, Berg, Canzoneri & Cervantes.

I generally go with Barney Ross. Don't agree on Chavez.

I think Saddler at 130.

Hi Palooka,
I think Ruben Olivares was the 3rd greatest bantamweight of all time.Behind Carlos Zarate and then Eder Jofre.

Now the greatest fighter pound for pound in my opinion was Sugar Ray Robinson.(hardly an original opinion here).I believe at one time his pro record was 128-1-2.Golden gloves champ, welterweight champ, middleweight champ. He fought the best of his day!He was everything a fighter should be! =)

Those losses..... though unanimous were a bit of an anomaly IMO. But I understand your way of thinking...and it's logical.

Greb or Langford for me, but Robinson is certainly a legitimate answer.

Pascual Perez could use some love at flyweight, IMO. Like Wilde, a great little guy with pop who didn't fight as a pro until he was 26 after winning Olympic gold
