First saw Smith winning a silver at the Commonwealths and thought he looked a good prospect then.
He has some excellent stoppage wins on the nursery slopes and I think his skills and dig can take him places domestically.
I have heard rumours though that he has a torrid time in sparring with a certain Brummie stablemate..

Quite right. Jib literally means nose, which is why it became associated with the sail at the front of the ship, also called a jib. How experienced a sailor was could be judged by what size of jib they hoisted and it became common parlanace meaning whether someone was trustyworthy or not.headhunter wrote:thats a quote from the days of sailing ships you land lubber!Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Paul Smith - the boxer - is perhaps even classier than the designer.
I like the cut of his jib (whatever that means). He has the look of someone who can go very far. Good dig on him, which always helps.

Paul Smith - i have seen him fight twice live before , the first time he took out Jason Collins in 1 round , not much that i could deduce from that short outing , bar that he could hit.
The second time i saw him , i was very disapointed with his performance against Simeon Cover. Cover is one of these fighters who can make others look bad and he accomplished that task agaist Smith.
Smith is a man who i think can go places , he has a good dig , coupled with decent movement and very good skills. We have yet to see his durablilty tested , should he pass that test............
