Tete wins WBA Pan Africa title

Makazole Tete of Mdantsane won the vacant WBA Pan African flyweight title when he outpointed former South African flyweight champion Doctor Ntsele from Thabong, Free Staete (sic) over 12 rounds at the Orient Thetare (sic) in East London on Sunday afternoon. Tete did well in the first three rounds but let Ntsele come back into the fight in the middle rounds. However, Tete finished strongly to take the decision as the judges scored it 117-112, 117-111 and 116-111. Tete improved his reported record to 9-0-1, 6 KOs and Ntsele’s record dropped to 17-6-1, 11 KOs.
On the undercard former South African junior featherweight champion Macbute Sinyabi (22-3, 18 KOs) outscored Tello Litebe (sic) whose record was unavailable, over eight rounds.
