Martin Rogan did he have an amateur career?

Post by Controversial »

Belfast heavyweight Martin Rogan I know started boxing late, turned pro at 33. I remember watching him outpoint Audley Harrison and thinking he was a tough guy, he also stopped Matt Skelton in the 11th.

Does anyone know if he had an amateur background. I wonder how well he might have done if he started young.

Rogan and Skelton - proper come forward fighters - they can take a shot and give a hard shot too.

No. As far as I'm aware he's got in to the fitness and training side of things. Think that he does a fitness class in the Falls leisure centre.

Quit the ams for being "told off" for having a pint while away on international duty,

"Im 30 years old, ill have a fornicating pint if i want to" - hed been eliminated from an international comp that day and gone for a beer.
