I thought Carl looked good but he got tagged with a few here and there that he could of avoided. I wonder if the crowd plays a part in that because it's so loud that i'm wondering if his concentration wanders a touch.

Carl did what he had to do. But it was so short that he didn't show us anything we don't already know.

Santa Cruz will be a different proposition.

Clearly. Santa Cruz is the clear Number Two in the division. And if Carl fights him in America, it's gonna be a helluva battle.

I think Carl has the skills to beat Leo but I do worry about the Length advantage that Santa Cruz will have over Carl. Carl seems to have little T-rex arms which could be detrimental in that respect.

Agreed.Santa Cruz would have to be the favourite - and I can admit that even though I'll be cheering for Carl.

Something just looks "off" to me about Frampton when I watch him.

Great left hook from Frampton to stop a 36 year old Cazares and let's not make no bones about it, Cazares is a tough customer. Not many had Frampton to win the fight so early, I thought around 4-6.

Santa Cruz loves to come forward and although he can take a shot and is unbeaten, I'd favour Carl to stop him as well. Fantastic power in both hands.

Quigg v Frampton either this summer or next has blockbuster written all over it :TU:

Frampton did what he had to do and I'm not about to criticise him. However, Cazares was a blown up, 36 year old flyweight who had no chance of winning. He certainly got tagged with a beauty and was all over the place, and suddenly remembering he was only in Belfast for the cash, had the common sense to think how he was going to get out of a hammering and waited to be counted out.

If anyone thinks Cazares was actually a worthwhile opponent, and not just another favoured son of the WBC, lets see if he ever fights again and what the results are.

I've got to emphasize that I'm not criticising Frampton, only his promoter, for cheating the paying public in Belfast and on BXNT. ( what about the undercard - top notch wasn't it ). But again, maybe the promoter is correct, if people are prepared to pay money for tickets and take out a subscription ( like me) , why not fill the card with no-hopers ( I almost said bums there, oops).

Frampton shipped a few punches last night he maybe shouldn't have but its top level boxing,it happens,Cazares might not be top of the tree just now but he,s still up there and being a former 2 weight world champ he knows how to tag fighters coming in,only Mayweather and Rigondeaux don't get tagged really, everyone else does, the positive thing i would take away is that the punches bounced of Car,l and Santa Cruz probably doesn't have the power to hurt Carl, sure Frampton and Shane McGuigan will work a lot on defence in the build up to Leo fight as im sure the most logical outcome is Santa Cruz outboxing Carl while hitting him with sharp counters

I for one won't be ruling out Frampton, you never know he might just walk through everything LSC does and break him down for a late stoppage

Nobody worried about a McGuigan fighter possibly taking on a guy called Cruz in Vegas? Lightning doesn't strike twice. Does it?

That someone at ringside was the timekeeper, who takes the count off his clock, watch, whatever they use to keep the time, to remove the risk of a long or short count by the referee, standard procedure at all shows, nothing iffy about it at all.

i thought the count didn't start till the ref decided he was ready that count started while the ref was still sending carl to his corner and cazares looked ok but miss timed getting up so does the time keeper always start the count ?

Yes mate the count starts soon as the boxer hits the deck you will always see the ref look out of the ring then join in on the count imagine only starting the count after sending framton to the corner it would be like a 15second count

I tried to explain the same thing in the pub on Saturday night, I told them that there was a "count keeper" who keeps the count when the ref brings the standing fighter over to a netural corner.

They looked at me as if I had two heads and didn't believe me...

I've heard that Santa Cruz doesn't want to fight until the autumn time. Sounds to me like more delaying tactics from yet another World Champion who deesn't want to fight Carl.

Rigo does. He's very keen. Great chance to become the number one in the division, too.

I'd of thought it was fairly common knowledge a blind man could see that
