Kingsley was stopped here last weekend. How is he allowed to fight so soon?. I thought it was mandatory 28 days.

28-days ain't mandatory in all States. It depends on local Commission & ringside doctor. ATM, Qld & NSW supplies suspensions with official results, which I insert as you know.

NZPBA also does

Gutted its not on Sky Sport NZ!!! Some genuine sluggers on in the tounry with Nasio, Tuivasas, Misipati and Sio!! Should be interesting!!

On Paper you'd pick winner of Kirby/Briggs to take it out

Wish I had a good night. Inserting tournament results as they happen, so they correspond with each guy's record is quite a challenge

One would imagine Zappa will be out for a while again potentially another 6 months without knowing the exact extent of the facial injuries.

What a great night of fights I have never even heard of some of those heavyweight boys. Great night they must do it again I hope. Cant work out WHY the doctor spent more time in the ring than Nathan Briggs getting in the corner as the trainer is talking to his boxer wt, and the ref that cant count to 8 wt.(The voice of the people) Chris McCullen should have told the doctor to take a hike and gave the ref a hand out with the 8 count.

What a war..Zappa looked great and any other fighter may have been out of there by round six, but the Japanese lad had heart and skill. Both put in an awesome effort. FOTY candidate.

Agree mate, while watching I keep thinking FOTY. I was also reminded of Katsidis v Omonsot.

Defiantly world war 3, Zappa will need time to recover, as will the Japanese fighter.

The Doc spent more time getting his face on TV than a lot of the fighter's.
It's got me stuffed why corner man don't tell the doctor to piss off when they interrupt there 1 minute break. The doc can see them when the round begins, if the ref has a concern he can call time and ask the ref to have a look.

Dr Lewis seems to think he runs combat sport in Victoria.....and likes his head on TV. As Andy & Chris said numerous times; "Rest period is corners time not his"

I think they should have the lron rhino in the NZ super eight - he'd have age on his side.

He's 38, Meehan absolutely polarized him in less than a round. Kirby, is as tough as they come, I'd rather see him work his way back into the sport, after a severe eye injury, getting dropped in 2 fights in 1 night, he may need a bit of time adjusting back to the sport.

IMO, that tourney a bridge too far, we could have Huomono, De Mori though.

loved the call from one of the commentator's "it looks like he's been punched in the face by Edward scissor hands"
best call I've heard in ages.

and as Collin said, great tourney to watch, and hope they do it again.
even if its 8 new guys again in syd/bris/perth. especially if its $20/30k prize for winner. surely we could draw some guys out with that carrot.
