Just to let you know Erick has checked out of hospital. Scan is all clear. Just suffered from the heat in York Hall tonight. All is well and thanks for all your concerns.

Great news, was worried when he went wobbly at the end. Excellent quick work by the medics there.
All the best to Erick

Thank God. I had a feeling it was that. I've seen people feint from this type of thing before.

Glad all is well.

I'm so glad to hear this, it made my heart sink when he started to look like he was losing balance and his eyes began to lose focus.

Really pleased it's just exhaustion.

Great news on the Eagle. Was tough watching the end of the fight as Eric began to look unsteady on his feet. A terrible couple of serious minutes for live boxing but fantastic news that it was from sheer exhaustion and nothing brain related.

Asking the fighters to work at the intensity that Prizefighter crowd/fans expect, I'm surprised we haven't seen more boxers collapse. Maybe it's time the format was revised? But in saying that, it was the first fight of the night for Eric. Possibly dehydration?

He had moved down from Light middle to welter I'm guessing this caused it.

Glad he is ok

And the way Jim Watt commentates in these situations is not good. I have to turn the sound off, he paints a very grim picture with no regard for friends and family watching at home.

Glad Eric is well, skilled fighter who can do well given the right prep time etc.

His last two fights have been at Welter? Over a much longer distance too.

I think he was just exhausted. It was pretty warm last night and it seemed like he just got overwhelmed with it.

I thought Jim Watt was excellent when it happened - he understood the potential seriousness of the situation, said exactly the right things and hit exactly the right tone.
