Re: Best left hook
Scrap Iron Ryan had knockout power in both hooks. However I would say his right hand was the more powerful out of the two.matko wrote:
Was scrap iron Ryan a left hooker? I can't remember
Re: Best left hook
Ryan was a switch hitter and he did have serious power in both hands; Andy Holligan did some damage with his left hook, he was a hard hitter and accurate with it.

Tony Sibson for me....
Re: Best left hook
Steve Murray had a strong left hook.
Re: Best left hook
Sibson, McGuigan as already mentioned...
I'd add Colin Jones too. Fantastic puncher.

Re: Best left hook
Two catagories here for me, some of these fighters were terrific finishers with combos of left hooks- sibson,Barry Mac, Wharton for example while others were one shot, see ya in the morning finishers-bingo,pat Barrett. Best single punch finisher at domestic level with the left hook is Bingham or Alexander for me.

Re: Best left hook
If I remember rightly, he had both arms broken and couldn't fully extend either. He could definitely hit with both hands.
I seem to remember that there was a clash of heads before the KO. Huge looping right hand that finished it, after going down heavily from a right just before that.

Re: Best left hook
George Foreman's left hook on Adilson Rodriguez has to be one of the best I've ever seen!:

Incrediblyhe knocked out most in the amateurs, he used to have a bit of a crazy bouncy style in the ams too.
