Was scrap iron Ryan a left hooker? I can't remember
Scrap Iron Ryan had knockout power in both hooks. However I would say his right hand was the more powerful out of the two.

Ryan was a switch hitter and he did have serious power in both hands; Andy Holligan did some damage with his left hook, he was a hard hitter and accurate with it.

Sibson, McGuigan as already mentioned...

I'd add Colin Jones too. Fantastic puncher.

Two catagories here for me, some of these fighters were terrific finishers with combos of left hooks- sibson,Barry Mac, Wharton for example while others were one shot, see ya in the morning finishers-bingo,pat Barrett. Best single punch finisher at domestic level with the left hook is Bingham or Alexander for me.

If I remember rightly, he had both arms broken and couldn't fully extend either. He could definitely hit with both hands.

I seem to remember that there was a clash of heads before the KO. Huge looping right hand that finished it, after going down heavily from a right just before that.

George Foreman's left hook on Adilson Rodriguez has to be one of the best I've ever seen!:

Of course, 'the lockett rocket'.

I've read he was a terror in a the amateurs too.
Yes, Gary was the best at his age and weight and if an opponent got through 3 rounds with him it was a surprise and a victory of sorts. he went to a tournament in Finland or Norway and beat 3 good lads all by body punch knockouts in 2 days.
Incrediblyhe knocked out most in the amateurs, he used to have a bit of a crazy bouncy style in the ams too. Brutal puncher
