0-1 Boxer turns down six figure sponsorship apparently

Anyone believe this?
Good on him if true, but I find it hard to believe.
This guy is 35, does not have a board licence (boxed on a Malta show) and got stopped inside one round.

What a load of old tosheroo!
Its hard enough getting a couple of hundred quid for a guy that that gets a low level TV fight never mind landing a Blue Whale with a sprat!
Has anyone asked him with drinks company made him the offer, or, let me guess, he doesn’t want to name them! ;)

According to the article "The welterweight is the first British-born Indian to fight professionally..."
I guess the author has forgotten about (or never heard of) former British welterweight champ Harry Dhami.

That ain't the only thing the author has forgotten about.rubberneck wrote:According to the article "The welterweight is the first British-born Indian to fight professionally..."

Who puts this shite out? I can guess.........

Member seems to have a very active PR guy. For what reason a 0-1 white-collar boxer who doesn't even have a British licence needs or merits any sort of attention I do not know but they seem to have been relatively successful in it. The article in the MEN would have been written by his media guy who probably didn't bother to research properly and just labelled him the first British-born Indian.

I asked his PR guy and he said it isn't "appropriate" to mention the company.slapbangwhallop wrote:What a load of old tosheroo!

To which I replied: "Because they don't exist".
He got all snooty after that.
Member has a lot of Twitter followers, but he plays the follow as many people as possible and hope they follow you back game. Having 21k followers and following 20k people is the same as having 200 followers and following 150 people. Anyone can do it if you can arsed following people you're not interested in for the sake of getting a return follow.

He wasn't the first British fighter to box in Zambia, Paul Burke did and I am pretty certain he wasn't the first.

Not even the first Prestonian then, seems to be a complete bullshitter, hadn't heard of him until he got sparked on his debut.Fat Git wrote:He wasn't the first British fighter to box in Zambia, Paul Burke did and I am pretty certain he wasn't the first.

Maybe it's actually that he's the first British-born Indian from Preston to fight in Zambia....we all need a claim to fame.expe wrote:Not even the first Prestonian then, seems to be a complete bullshitter, hadn't heard of him until he got sparked on his debut.Fat Git wrote:He wasn't the first British fighter to box in Zambia, Paul Burke did and I am pretty certain he wasn't the first.
