Re: Boxing Guru website closed down
The police cannot physically close down a website the courts do that, but im sure if the courts told the owner not to broadcast anymore the police could go to the property and 'pull the plug' I suppose.JimJim2009 wrote:Why would the police shut down the site ?
There are more streaming sites out there you just have to find them and keep your mouth shut! the problem is when you find them you share with your friends and they share with their friends. Sooner or later it gets onto Twitter Facebook etc and the big ears start to take notice. They soon get to find out who owns the 'pirate' station and get the courts to close it down. These pirates soon go and start up another so you have to sit and wait.
But it should be a lesson for everyone, if you find a streaming site, keep it to yourself

what did it specialise in??????????????????????
Re: Boxing Guru website closed down
They provided a service to individuals with a keen interest in boxing but not much money in their wallets. Mostly teenagers and young men from backgrounds not dissimilar from those of the greats of the sport.

Good riddance. Intellectual property theft is no different to any other kind of theft. It is unethical and ultimately has a detrimental impact on the funds available to support British Boxing in the long run (i.e. less official viewing figures = reduced advertising income, less subscribers = less subscription income, less pay per view box office payments = less box office income ...... Ultimately broadcasters will show less boxing as a result of intellectual property theft). It's a bit more complex than that but it's just a brief overview.
