James is a talented boxer as a fan of british boxing I'd like to see him do well however his profile has dropped dramatically over the last two/three years what the hell is going on?

If it meant going with a top US trainer I'd say sign with Top Rank, Golden Boy or maybe even Mayweather's outfit

Yeah I think changing his trainer should of happened 3-4 years ago. Maybe someone like Floyd snr would suit DeGale style more.

Floyd Snr may not be a bad shout. Enzo Calzaghe may work well with him and it would be good to see him back with a big name over here

WHoever can get him the shot a the title then go from there. He needs to be in the mix with the winner of Froch Groves

Matchroom - he needs regular fights. I don' think elsewhere in the UK. He could maybe go to the states and he will always have the gold medal appeal, but it really has to be matchroom.

Meaty Mick seems more bothered about Degale doing this to him, than when he benefited from Degale doing it to the previous promoter.

Can only imagine the money Mick lost promoting DeGale.

Nearly 6 years since the Olympics and none of the Olympians are close to fighting for a world title.

Regale has only had 18 fights in 6 years. Hopefully he doesn't have three or more warm ups with match room before having a meaningful fight.

Enzo Calzaghe isn't a bad shout - notwithstanding he's a leftie super middleweight, de gales problem is he is lazy and lacks concentration; he made damn sure Joe was anything but!!

Anyone remember the press conference where Degale was very critical of Hennessy not getting th big fights when he was sat next to him?

All a hit weird so no surprise to hear the split.

Looks like he'll sign with Matchroom;

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/a ... rge-groves

Looks like Uncle Eddie is putting him on the Froch vs Groves undercard. It'll be against some winnable opponent, then he can promote the winner of Froch/Groves vs James DeGale as a British Superfight.

God, does he really have to fight on the Froch vs Groves undercard? I was going to order that pay-per-view.

Having DeGale on the undercard makes me bitter about having to pay for it. After his antics pre-Groves fight I refused to pay for that fight on principle. I didn't want that bell-end to have money of me, he didn't deserve it.

I know I'll be paying for the Froch vs Groves fight, and not because I want to see DeGale fighting a journeyman on the undercard. But still. :witzend:

It's okay when he's on Channel 5, as he aint taking my money.

Don't buy it then. Get yourself to Cardiff or somewhere for a show.

I'll do the more practical thing of buying it and shouting abuse at DeGale when he's on.

That'll learn him.
