Has anybody got any information on Marvin Haglers Amateur record? Stats, Titles won, opponents etc? Was he ever tipped to go to the 1972 Olympics ?

According to the records Ive got, Hagler only had 42 contests an an amatuer (dont know how many he lost). his final amateir bout was his victorious middleweight fight for the AAU in 1973. He was also voted boxer of the tournament, despite the fact he had competition from Howard Davis and Aaron Prior for the trophy.

He was listed in the tourney as being aged 20 but was apparently only 18. This discrepency came about due to the fact that for some reason his birthdate was always given as 23rd May 1952, but whilst world champion he produced a birth certificate which stated he was born on 23rd May 1954.

I've read his amateur record as being as 55-2.

I heard he lost to Tony Licata at the 1969 Golden Gloves.
