Strange knockdown really, a forearm to the head.

His chin really is going to stop him progressing. Which kinda evens itself out, because it certainly isn't boxing skill that has got him to the level he's at....he's got very little. Just brute power.

You cant read much into that knockdown it was a forearm as has been said.If you watch the Thompson fight again, id like to see some of the top 10 HW take as much punishment on that chin without going down or even attempting to hold once. Thanks for the link to that fight.

He can box, he was a top amateur, Price just relies on his power too much, always looking for the right hand and ends up neglecting everything else.

Blatant forearm there. Illegal punch put him down but he didn't complain he just got on with it and got the job done.

Yeah I think he has good skills. He could do with being more authoritative with his jab vs pawing with it but he's a definietly a boxer that tries to think about what's he doing vs just throwing heavy leather. That just comes naturally.

Needs to stay behind the jab and stop mixing it or he will get caught. I still think he is the heaviest puncher in the division though.

Yeah, it would be a close run thing between him, Wlad and Wilder I think.

Wilder is a lot lighter though and although powerful his punches don't seem to have the concussive power of Price.

There's no getting away from the fact that david is very fragile.

Agreed. I am a fan of his as he is a very pleasant bloke with decent skills. Having said that I do worry when he's in with even a reasonable puncher.

Such a shame he has worst possible flaw in HW division. Hed be better with a granite chin and lesser punch because he'd outbox most. If you have a chin like price you cant be flat footed, he has to be like a midget at a urinal, always on his toes.

Its a great sport isn't it - i remember 90% of people on here would've bet their mortgage on Price beating Fury 2 years ago.

I'd still favour him to beat Fury if they fought now.

One right hand from Price and Fury would go into his panic mode.

That was exactly the type of fight Price needed. A dirty, reasonably tough fighter who was in his face. And I mean that as a compliment to Pala. A cuffing forearm caught him off balance & he stayed composed and showed his power in the end.

I love fighters like Price & Maccarinelli. People mock them as if it's their fault for not being born with decent whiskers but they have a much tougher job than many fighters.

Long may the weaker chinned puncher live

Watching the fight I don't see any reason for people to be slating the guy I thought he did ok against a guy who wasn't a complete can.

Wasn't a damaging knockdown, looked square & looked clear when he got up which was straight away. I was suprised he opted to hold after tho! Maybe he was hurt?

Makes me laugh when posters on here cry out about that was a illegal blow!! When in a fight you throw what you can & it's your opponents duty to make you miss! & the stoppage was caused by a punch to the back of the head

His legs are so skinny, I guess being so tall and rangy gives him power, but no punch resistance or balance when he takes anything (even a forearm).

And the thought of a right hand from Fury would send Price into his panic mode.

He is the same Audley - when they are facing an opponent that they know they will beat their confidence is sky high and they look a million dollars.

However, when faced with an opponent who might have the slightest chance, they get very nervous, paw their jab whilst moving backwards and their legs look like Bambi on ice even before they get hit.
