WAT YOU THINK OF FIGHT
Re: Iain Weaver
Really enjoyed the fight.THE BLESSED ONE wrote:WAT YOU THINK OF FIGHT
Both boxers were skilful, fast, good reflexes, showed power etc. etc. - most importantly, both boxers wanted to win. You cannot even compare the fight with some of the fights novice pro's with 5 fights are having.
Although the decision didn't go your way this time, that kind of fight can only improve Iain as a fighter and also improve his reputation.
Hopefully an American promoter will give him a break.
He doesn't have any Irish relatives does he ? - the Yanks would love "Irish Iain Weaver" !

Cracking fight, thought Iain won well very clean and crisp other lad was strong and fit but was just half a step behind.
Remember watching Iain at international tournaments and watching him spar against other countries and he was dynamite, good to see he's not changed since I last watched him.

Re: Iain Weaver
Iain is a very good boxer, he was second only to Luke Campbell in the amateur set up; it's a terrible run of luck that has put him out of the mainstream. If he were allowed to box on a big show people would recognise his talent and ability. Best of luck to him and his team.
Re: Iain Weaver
Enjoyed that thought he boxed very well haven't read through theme thread what weight is Ian fightin at

Weaver was my favourite amateur from the most recent crop of GB podium squad boxers.
He has the style and skills to go far as a pro.
Re: Iain Weaver
Echo the rest of the largely positive comments on here. A good learning fight, a loss no harm at this stage. Weaver just seems to be one of those guys who never gets a break, and hopefully if he keeps motivated and keeps learning it will come.
In relation to the BBB of C I do feel they are damned if they do and damned if they dont. If they give Weaver a license they set a precedent for fighters with similar medical issues, and if something did happen to Weaver who would get the blame in the publics eye?
I did read both of the arguments from Weavers side and the boards view and it was one of those times when you read one side you agree with that and then you read the other side and you also see their point of view.
