Again, depends on the definition of Journeyman - for me losing 10 from 36 is a journeyman, particularly when many of the of his defeats were to fighters not of British title level. He was never in the British top ten.

Yes, can call him an ambitious journeyman no doubting that, but he was never someone like a Frank Bulligoni, given top billing and the promoters blue eyed boy. Was often in the blue corner.

Beyond Vargas - he was an unambitious journeyman and, sorry to say, a glorified punch bag.

Would agree here. Many of Jones' defeats were to world ranked fighters, let alone fighters who would be in the British top 10. Jones was possibly deserving of a top 10 spot at the time of the Brook fight.

Buster Drayton was one of my favs, real toughman of the ring. A complete danger if he caught you with one of his wide swings, but could be outboxed.
Beat Duane Thomas who was 16-0 by 7th round KO, Clint Jackson 2nd round, Mark Kaylor 7th round and Jimmy Cable 1st round.
The knockout of Kaylor was brutal.

But at the same time lost on points to Kalambay, Holmes, Hutchings, Maldonado.
He always seemed to box with a smile on his face, looked like he was enjoying the fights. But you wouldn't want to catch one from him. A typical Philadelphia boxer. He learnt alot from being Marvin Haglers sparring partner of choice, he spent 4 years working with the middleweight champ. And you'd have to be tough to keep up with Marvin in sparring, the champion didn't hold back.

Life looks to of treated him well after retirement , he's a police officer in Philly now i think.

Drayton was tough as well, I think I remember watching him box Matthew Hilton for a title and it was absolutely brutal for 15 rounds, it doesn't get mentioned but that was some fight.
