It's always funny when people use either other boxer's names, or famous people's names (or even movie characters), like:

There were two brothers whose last name was Outhouse. Can't remember just when they fought.

I knew a prelim fighter in the 50's named "Jackie O'Cohen...the circumsized Irishman."

Which reminds me of a nickname...wasn't Johnny Dundee (featherweight champion around 1920) called "The Scotch Wop"?

I once read an article about a smaller division fighter nicknamed Hairpin Harry, because he was so long and thin, but I can't remember his last name. His photo looked as if he could be used as a pipe cleaner, but as i recall he had a pretty good record.

This is the amateurs, so it might not count. One year that I fought in the Dallas Golden Gloves, and in one division, Sharman Brown lost to Roosevelt Jones, who beat Hollywood Jones. In kickboxing circles in Dallas, there was a group of fighters- Freddy Brazil, Rabbit Brown and Santae Wilson.

Just took a look at some older posts in here, and with all the daffy names when I got to Arthur Sithole I started laughing like an idiot and I still am as I type this. Sorry, just imagining him in a restaurant and hearing the speaker say "Table is ready for Arthur Sithole."
