Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Seems like a nice guy but I really think he is being used as a cash cow by Warren. He sells a lot of tickets and I cannot see Warren putting him in with anyone dangerous as I really think the British level is the highest level he will climb.
I think he is always a safe option to put on a card like Saturday to boost the ticket sales.
I could be wrong. Thoughts?

Re: Frank Buglioni
Compare it to Callum Smith.
Though I notice Frank is at least getting him a title with this next fight.

Re: Frank Buglioni - Britsh level at best
Looks like he is now chief support, scheduled for 12 rounds on Saturday
Re: Frank Buglioni
Buglioni was meant to be fighting Kelvin Young for the Southern Area on Saturday, which would have been a great little contest, but Young vacated the title to fight for the IBO International Belt instead. Both men are now going into ultimately pointless contests that will earn them meaningless titles, instead of fighting each other and proving something. That's modern boxing for you. Its not Buglioni's or Warren's fault though.
Buglioni has a big following but I don't think Warren's holding him back any more than seems to be standard for a young prospects these days. He's 10 fights in and started taking on guys with winning records. Pretty standard, really.

Anyone know how Callum Smith and Hosea Burton match up when sparring? Burton looked a top prospect but he's just not out often enough, he could do with being with MatchroomDMA1987 wrote:Compare it to Callum Smith.

How many tickets would Buglioni have sold for Saturday? I know they make a lot of noise, but is it that many?
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
He surely sells well over a thousand.King Tubby wrote:How many tickets would Buglioni have sold for Saturday? I know they make a lot of noise, but is it that many?

That many? That's a lot of tickets.
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Yes he sells a lot, about 700 in his last fight of which 100 were ringside he said in an interview on BS.
Good ticket seller
Good ticket seller
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
It is. I seem to remember George Kean sold over 2000 for his first fight, he is likely the biggest seller on that card.King Tubby wrote:That many? That's a lot of tickets.

A pretty pointless and vindictive thread as far as I'm concerned. Why write someone off after ten fights ? Saturday's fight looks a step up - why not wait until after then before making a judgement ? 700 tickets a show reflects the guys popularity - good for him I say.

Seconded. While the opponent might be rated about 200 in the World Buglioni is 10-0. Thus it isn't like Buglioni is rated top 10 so fighting a guy like this is ok.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:A pretty pointless and vindictive thread as far as I'm concerned. With Buglioni not appearing to be a huge puncher too the fight being over 12 will hopefully let us know how his stamina is.
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
They seem to be bringing him on too slowly imo.the worse the opponent the worse he is & he's Taylor made for a left hook his head movement is non existent but he is big & strong with a good dig & can only improve against decent opposition.should be looking at fielding & smith now & needs to up his opposition before doing so

Bunny is doing it the right way he knows the Boxers Limitations and is hardly going to risk his winning record coz after all ticket sales are going to go down once he loses thats how it is in this game Ticket sales are everything anybody who thinks differently needs a reality check ffs Bunny might be many things but stupid isnt one of them
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Yeah that's 100% correct. But it's becoming apparent to all.

He should have fought Reagan Denton.
I'd have gone down for that one.

Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
I agree that FW is using him, but it is quid pro quo - he is also using FW (he will undoubtedly get more opportunities that his talent would otherwise allow by virtue of the fact that he sells a lot of tickets).TopGun wrote:Seems like a nice guy but I really think he is being used as a cash cow by Warren. In these cases, both the boxer and the promoter win - it is just the paying public who are getting fecked over.
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
I think/hope he is atleast European or fringe world just due to his fan base.

Yes mate and all that matters for bunny is ticket sales
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
I think Frank proved that British level at best is all he can hope for. Nice guy but doesn't have the tools to go any further
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Not sure why you think the thread is either pointless or vindictive ?Black Sam Bellamy wrote:A pretty pointless and vindictive thread as far as I'm concerned. Why write someone off after ten fights ? Anyway, since when has being called "British level" been an insult ? - most boxers would give their right arm etc. ........
Even if you ignore Froch, Groves and Degale - do you think that Buglioni would beat the likes of Smith (either Paul or Callum) or Rocky Fielding ?
To those who say this fight was a step too soon - after going 12-0 who would you expect him to box ?
There a few people around him in the rankings - Dodson, Renda and Bleackledge - these are all good fights and would give an indication of his level. If he can beat them 3 then he will be British Level, if not then he isn't.
Re: Frank Buglioni - British level at best
Old thread this one! I said he was made for a left hook. His opponent was live & he was doing good but was paying the price for mistakes. Getting fed cannon fodder doesn't prepare you! The Belarusian had floored Murray which world class opponents have failed to do & was a tough nut! It was a bad gamble as his faults are pretty clear
