Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Looking at the up coming cards in 2014, domestically i see one interesting fight that is forcasted and to be telecasted, Brad Pitt v David Aloua, besides this it's pretty ordinary.
I would like to see what matchup's the fans think should be made in order to progress the sport into a new era.
Myself, i believe some are on the cusp, and get really make 2014 a year to propell thier careers internationally in 2015.
Not all are required to give every division like i will, just simply a domestic matchup that would benefit both the sport, and the fighter, and most importantly lift the fan base with great matchmaking. After all we keep failing to give our fighters credabilty by walking them through taxi's, gain a ranking and send them to slaughter...Exception to the rule. Geale,Dib,Soliman,Bika at present.
Let's be realistic in this matchmaking considering, some are fighting ffor world titles, commonwealth titles, and already have international pedigree.
Heavyweight: can see 6 potentially international fighters, but need the right fights( Excluded Leapai, Brown)
Solomon Haumono vs Bowie Tupou
Mark DeMori vs Hunter Sam
Cruiserweight Believe only 1 will emerge at this point in time( Pitt, he is about to clean his backyard this month)
Mark Flanagan vs Danial Ammann
Daniel Baff vs Brad Pitt( wouldn't complain, if Pitt vs Flanagan, Baff, too inc onsistant, and still no decent names on the resume)
Light Heavy Number 1 Light Heavy by country mile at this point, is already international bound, Caperello.
Damien Hooper vs Steve Lovett
Trent Broadhurst vs kerry Foley
Supermiddle Exclusion Sakio Bika, WBC champion. ( Fight to watch McCulloch vs Yannick, McCulloch too strong)
McCulloch vs Zac Dunn
Murdoch vs Moxon over 12 rounds
Jake Carr vs Renold Quinlan
Middleweight Exclusions Geale,Soliman for obvious reasons. Maybe a fight against each other, but it would be for a title.
Jarrad Fletcher vs Dennis Hogan
Michael Zeraffa vs Dwight Ritchie
Sherrington vs Wood( Not all that interested to be honest, however could play out in a winner vs winner scenario with other matchups listed)
LT Middle (Exclude Anthony mundine, another domestic matchup with him is suicide for his career) Owes evryone reality
Sam Ah see is fighting Ben Capps( Decent matchup) Not to be included, great follow up fight to capitilize on his win over Shaggy.
Rocky Jerkic vs Craig Hill Jnr
Yao Yi ma vs Danial Dawson
Welterweight Omotoso to return to Australia for good reason. If Horn wins, will easily pick up a major management team
Jeff Horn vs Wale Omotoso
Jeff Horn vs Ben Rabah over 12 rounds
LT Welter 2 good victory's would see Lenny get another shot over seas, no one else shown any promise, all protecting records
Leonardo Zappavigna vs Chad Bennett
Leonardo Zappivigna vs Czar Omonsot
Lightweight very Bleak, and green divison, honestly has no one bar Katsidis and i'm not convinced he should be overseas
Michael Katsidis vs Joebert Delos Reyes
Brett smith vs Josh king( Neither IMO will ever be international fighters, however maybe it's as good as fight to see, as 2 rookies who don't have enough to push for international stardom in 2015.
Super Feather Very interesting division now, with Tomlinson failing at the international mark, these fights might better prepare him.
Tomlinson vs Fleming
Asis vs Garlett
Waylon Law vs Kye McKenzie
May vs Bilal Dibb
Feather weight Normally would exclude Dibb and Brunker, however feel both need to come home and clean out back yard.
Dib vs Brunker
Brayd Smith Vs Fred Mundraby
I would like to see some suggestions as to what we demand as a boxing community to be televised on a channel we pay $29 bucks a month for to see 1 or 2 cards at a time, may not agree with my matchups, but all have forward movement in thier careers, and as a fan, i'm over waiting to see some of these fights, it's now time to sort out who is our best from each division to send abroad, if anyone has anything they would like to add please suggest some if not all your prefered weight division fights.

Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
We will never see Fletcher v Hogan. Both from the same stable. Faris Chevallier also from Steve Della's gym would be right amongst it with a few of the super middles.
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
I was impressed with Rivan Cesaire's preparation against Jeff Horn. Weighing in 2 kg light was a big mistake but I got the feeling that he worked so hard for that fight that he might have revealed that he would be better off punching above his weight in Light Welterweight.
I would love to see a rematch with Zappavinga at Light Welterweight.

Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Couldn't care less if they from the same gym, it's stylistically the best fight to promote themselves, and this sport.
Fighters from all over the world have to eventually fight their stablemates, or same promotional team. In fact it makes it more realistic, they're not brothers.
The sport needs less excuses, and more balls.
I just watched 2 stablemates, train together in sparring for years, punch the living shit out of each other, and one ended up with a broken jaw, for a UFC contract.....
It was really exciting as a fan to watch.
Who would Faris FIGHT? Thats 1 half of a match up?

So your choice for a LT welter fight would be Zapp vs Rivan?
So that would be your main fight that you would want to see on Fox this year? I don't think it propells Zappa into international scene again, but a good match up, Cesaire going to need a spell for that shoulder to properly heal.
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Great post dawg. Lets hope some of them come to fruition this year
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Anthony Mundine v Daniel Dawson
Daniel Geale v Sam Soliman
Daniel Geale v Sam Soliman
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Would like to see Qamil Balla step it up and perhaps take on Steven Wills or Chad Bennett.
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Balla vs Wills would be good.
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
I wasn't saying they shouldn't fight. I'm saying they won't. Steve looks after them both and I'm sure that he will never put them together. Only way they would fight if one of them left his stable. Faris could fight any of the super middles. Might need a few more fights first but McColloch, Pittman to name a couple. Omar Shaik is the fight I'd like to see but he's been out for a while.
Re: Fights you would like to see domestically on Fox
Flanagan vs Ammann in Townsville, not being televised...why!
Instead we get Amonsot vs Thai Cabbie as main, cheers fox sports for showing you have no boxing sense to promote sport, neither are Australian.
Mckenzie vs Law in May being Televised. With 2 fairly ordinary main and semi mains.I do like Maley as a fighter though, and needs to build that record a little to reflect ability.

Balla fighting Tzourmasis 12 and 1 for Australian title. Looks promising. Televised.Sids wrote:Would like to see Qamil Balla step it up and perhaps take on Steven Wills or Chad Bennett.
Murdoch vs Yannich on a Wednesday in Qld, not listed but should be televised.
