Moses Matovu v Eddie Chambers

How on earth was this fight allowed to happen??

I've seen Matovu live, and I couldn't believe my eyes. He was absolutely shocking.I literally thought he was drunk. Looked like a complete novice. We don't like criticising boxers too much on this forum, but Moses is an exception. He has no boxing ability whatsoever. He's not even fit.

He won his last fight against somebody making his debut, but other than that he loses time after time. He swings his arms like a windmill and staggers about unbalanced on his feet. He's NOT one of these tough big men who can give an opponent a work out, he just doesn't have it.

So he's put in with a guy who fought Klitschko for the world heavyweight title. It's incredible.

This wasn't a fight. It should never have been allowed to happen in this country. Who made the match ?

Moses isn't as bad as you make out (ive also seen him live numerous times). However, I totally agree this was a horrible match against a proven, dangerous HW. Moses should stick to fighting guys his own weight at cruiser and im sure he would have more success.

Matovu is durable and Chambers is not a big heavy so it might be more interesting than people think BUT obviously the difference in class is huge it shouldn't be happening but it probably says a lot about the other heavies that they wouldn't take the fight at a short notice as Moses is a stand in for the injured and sadly still inactive Ian Lewison.

Lets say for example, Steve Cunningham decides to come to the UK for a couple of fights. David Drummond beat Matovu 12 months ago on his debut. Would somebody authorise a 6 round fight between Drummond and Cunningham???

The Chambers v Matovu fight was an utter disgrace, and none of those involved should be allowed to get away with it. But, no one is listening.

Chambers needed a fight ( before he took up commentating!!) and Matovu was brought in. Trust me when I say this, any 15 sts steward at the doors that night would have been more capable.

Both replies agree with you. Who are trying to convince? I suggest you ask the Board why it was allowed.
