Callum smith
Watching Callum smith last night looks brilliant already and seems to bring a lot of fans although he's only had a few fights what is a prospect like that typical a purse these days will he get paid less with the prospect of going out more often or get decent purses even though he fights so regular when not injured?

Smith is some talent, give him 3 more fights and he beats James degalecraigjenkins05 wrote:Watching Callum smith last night looks brilliant already and seems to bring a lot of fans although he's only had a few fights what is a prospect like that typical a purse these days will he get paid less with the prospect of going out more often or get decent purses even though he fights so regular when not injured?

Re: Callum smith
Smith looks a real talent: relaxed and patient in the ring with excellent technique and leverage coupled with first class shot selection.
He wastes very few shots and could be moved into title class quickly.
I thought Stephen Smith was the best of the brothers until Callum turned over - now it looks like Callum will go furthest and, based on his last punch perfect performance, maybe Beefy could eclipse Stephen's achievements given time.

Re: Callum smith
Callum is starting to look the more talented fighter out of the brothers,i do still rate Stephen highly as well though and when he gets some momentum going he could be in some terrific fights but Callum just looks so strong and as you' s say he's not wasteful with his punches and has a great shot selection,i reckon a fight with Groves down the line is inevitable
Re: Callum smith
I'd like to see him get some quality opposition that push & extend him & prepare him for top level, rather then see him get there unscathed & under prepared!
Callum looks elite! But we are yet to see him pushed, punched or in a fight!
If the other three bros are anything to go by he should be fine

Re: Callum smith
Ruben Acosta was a good opponent previous to saturday,s fight and it was a gamble that paid off, plus Smith got some rounds in,and the Bastient fight was obviously a warm up for Webb but if he beats him then if he cant get the British or Commonwealth then i'd suspect he might go down the International route fighting Argentinians and former titlistshurlock wrote:I'd like to see him get some quality opposition that push & extend him & prepare him for top level, rather then see him get there unscathed & under prepared!

Re: Callum smith
I quite like how Smith has been matched thus far.
Re: Callum smith
No chance Webb's getting £35k, I'd be surprised if he was making 5 figures.craigjenkins05 wrote:No I can't see it and I'm a Swansea Boi too anyone got any idea of the purse their getting someone from by reckons Webb will be getting £35k I can't see it myself

Webb wil probably walk away with five figures after paying out tax, trainer etc.... Callum Smith will probably earn between 16 & 20k for a 10 or 12 round minor title fight.
Pure guestimate based on knowlege previous prospects get paid.
Re: Callum smith
If Smith's making £20k, Webb will be lucky to be getting £10k, then like you say he has to pay the trainer and manager, expenses and tax, knocking more off that.gmanji wrote:expe wrote:No chance Webb's getting £35k, I'd be surprised if he was making 5 figures.craigjenkins05 wrote:No I can't see it and I'm a Swansea Boi too anyone got any idea of the purse their getting someone from by reckons Webb will be getting £35k I can't see it myself
